BTW, I picked up the '08 Tribute Grand Touring for $1376 below sticker, plus the $3,000 in rebates, for a total of $4376 below sticker. PLUS they gave me what I owed on the '05 Tribute trade in with no haggling which was a pleasant surprise to me. All this was the only reason I didn't hold out for Mercury Mariner which I wanted a little more than the Tribute. Wayne Mazda in New Jersey is a very nice dealer to do business with. I've now bought my last two Tributes there and would do it again.

My dealership also had a $1,000 Tribute loyalty rebate on top of the $1,500 and $500 rebates mentioned above. I found that out on Friday night and went in Saturday morning to trade in my '05 Tribute on a fully loaded '08 Grand Touring. If you're lucky enough to have a Tribute now and want to trade it in, it's a nice deal. The dealer was Wanye Mazda in Wayne, NJ. Don't know if it's a nationwide thing or not.
05 i 4WD not quite 7K off !

We got our Tribuite i 4WD with only all weather mats and rear bumper step plate, for what I came to $6800 off MSRP on June 29th. I called a couple of dealers, and ended up in Wayne Mazda, via their internet sales team. Discounts as follow $350 markup over invoice due to NJ/NY advertisement fee (ie their invoice is higher than what edmunds say) $500 discount below invoce (so net here we are at $150 below invoice) $250 Internet coupon $3000 Mazda customer cash $1000 Mazda Financing $500 Gerber $500 ACOG (though I had to mail this in as I didn't have the add from the magazine at first) MAC gave me $6.99 which I would refinance. We bought an MPV in the end of Feb. At the time, they gave me 6.39. Now here's the interesting bit - the MPV deal was at anothoer smaller dealer, which I dealt with the finance guy directly for the sale. At the time, he just PUNCHED IN 6.39. He said that's what he was just a 'request'. Of course if Mazda figures it out it's fine, they just give it to you like that - it's not going to be any lower'. In the case with Wayne, all of the paperwork is done 'in the background' so you can't haggle. He said 6 months to wait to refinance. Yeah right... So when you buy, if they punch 8%, and you go for it, Mazda is happy for them and happy for the dealer... In my case, there was no sence in NOT taking the $1K, since with our trade, the ammount to finance was just about $10K, so the rate would have to be completely out of wack to even think about iit... My .02...
2005 Mazda Tribute i
by cumbiero81 on Sat May 21 16:11:06 PDT 2005
Hey everyone... well, after much thought and browsing intensively through the internet and local newspapers, I decided that instead of getting a used 2003 Ford Escape (35K miles) at $11,500, to get a new 2005 Mazda Tribute i 4WD. The incentives on the Tribute are excellent and the deal I got made my decision a very good alternative. Before I go on, here is what I got for the price I got : Wayne Mazda located in Wayne, New Jersey 2005 Mazda Tribute i 4WD = $22,500 Mazda Incentive = - $3000 Mazda Financing + Dealer Incentive = - $3000 Trade In (2001 Hyundai Elantra GLS w/45Kmiles)= -$3000 Total OTD = $13,900 (bargaining included) When I went in, I was shooting for a great deal and came out with a figure slightly higher than what I expected but came out positive. I managed to squeeze out free carpets since they massed up on a calcuation and had me assume I was paying $12,995 because of newspaper misprint. Is this a good deal? Anyone have similar deals?
