the tribby has the same powertrain as the escape. i know you can hear the engine in an escape, but that does not bother me. get a hybrid if you don't want to hear any motor noise. ;)

hi barnstormer,I'm counting on you are right on the money on the'o8's.Ive tested a lot of cars(avy, lucern, azero, cts,mk whatever)but the montga has the room i want and you don't have to buy the moon roof which I believe is a big waste of money.the engine noise was the only thing that bothered me but from what I have read meerc has improved on this problem.I'm no youngester o the horsepower is no problem.wish me luck .If I can get close to invoice I hope to be driving the new "SABLE" this summer. :D

2002 Mazda Tribute
by greenwich on Mon Nov 13 17:04:03 PST 2006
I've owned a 2002 Mazda Tribute for 5 years. After 43,000 miles the O/D drive started blinking and the service engine soon light came on. I immediately took it to the dealer and was told I needed a new transmission. It is no longer under warranty and the cost will be $3,500. Has anyone else had this problem with transmission?
