It seems everybody is coming in significantly under invoice on this car on their leases. Is that correct?
Leasing Dilemma
by nysurg on Sat Jun 06 10:22:31 PDT 2009
So here is the situation...I currently have a 2006 Lexus GS 300 AWD with approx 41K miles and 12 mos left on my 48 month lease. The current pay off is 30K as of today. I am interested in getting into 2009 Mercedes C 300 with P1 (or P2 if can get it at the right price) - another lease. Went to dealership yesterday and was given this...salesman knew nothing of my current lease situation.. MSRP 41750 Invoice 39489 Selling price 41230 License fee 250 Doc fee 50 sales tax 4040.54 (WA - I thought was 8.8% - this number doesn't seem to make sense either) total 45570.54 Quotes 39 month lease / 2500 down / MF 0.00195 / 55% residual = $646.69/month 48 month lease / 2500 down / MF 0.00195 / 45% residual = $637.54/month After a lot of haggling I was finally able to negotiate him down to sell at Invoice price + tax but that didn't seem to make much difference in the prices. I feel like there is some extra fee that I am not being told about. Anyway, I am prepared to go into another dealer and still awaiting an online quote - any suggestions on how to negotiate this deal and what I should shoot for in terms of final sales price. I would love to get my monthly payment under $550/month. Thanks! Any advice is appreciated.
Re: Lease buyout qoute on R500 [irishrogue1]
by zorogris on Sat Jan 10 10:02:22 PST 2009
Irish, that is a little strange. I just got the docs from MBF with the buyout numbers and this is the skinny: Orig. MSRP $63565 Orig. Residual $41952 (66%) Current Residual $24391 (38% and/or ~$17500 off original residual depending on how they present it to you.) Total out the door $26636 (WA sales tax of 9.1%) I only have 24k miles on it and I just don't know where I would find this nice of a car for that price (especially when I know the history) so we have decided to keep it. Thanks everyone for all of your help. If you need anything, post here and I will respond to "pay it forward".
