Ok, for the 2008 R350, P2 with the panoramic roof, 2nd row center console, heated seats, bluetooth, metallic paint--51000. Probably could have gone a little lower but I got bored. My question is--how did they give you a MF? My dealer told me that it will depend on the number Mercedes sets in November when the car will be delivered??

I agree with you on the financial aspects. There's no way I would have bought my C350 if it weren't for the huge discount--especially since I sold my 330 CiC to do it. I love the car, but the depreciation and maintenance costs are very steep. Now that BMW is the only premium automaker offering the free maintenance package, it makes them even more attractive. I'm sure I'll look at BMW again in two years when I'm bored with the MB.
Twisting over buying a new Mercedes E 350

I have been leasing MB since 1979.....except for a Lexus I have has mostly E-class and 1 S-Class.....they have been good. Getting a little bored and lease is up this week, I went to look at the Audi A6 and see the Residuals are terrible compared to the Mercedes. Also, I have learned that in Texas (I moved here from California)you pay the sales tax on MSRP when you lease and don't recapture any of it at end of term.....so buying may be a better option in this state. How are the 2007's holding up? How are the deals going.....I went to one dealership, the only one in Austin and they took off $1100...I found that amusing. So I am sitting here trying to decide on buying a MB again or eating the depreciation on an Audi when I don't even know the maintenence on an Audi but I know MB is decent.....not the same as years ago but decent. Any thoughts? Regards Elliot
Mercedes Financial Vs. Audi Financial - Winner is MB

I had two leases terminate on very similarly used vehicles at the same time, so here is what I can share about that lesser known period of the lease: The Termination... Driving my Audi was OK, but boy, the leasing department (Audi Financial Services in Detroit)was a very negative experience at lease end. Niggling charges up the whazoo on a very, very undermileage car. Mercedes Benz was a wonderful experience on a similarly driven vehicle turned in only two weeks later. If a credit card covers it, MB don't charge for it. No turn in fees for wear and tear. Audi was horrible and had many unjust and even incorrect fees- it was a laundry list. Somebody should tell AFS about customer service, it was a nightmare to reach anyone there. Of course, I couldn't even get a supervisor on the line at Audi to discuss the issues and the clerks were bored by my calls. I am very dissatisfied with Audi. Kudos to Mercedes though!
