Buying a car from a Mercedes-Benz Car Dealer
Just wanted to let everyone know that I got a great deal on a 2010 E350 Sport P2 with AMG Wheel package. The dealership was Freehold Mercedes in NJ and I dealt with one of the Managers over there. I had a not so pleasant experience with the initial salesman but the situation was rectified by the hard working managers who were very accomodating. I got some fantastic offers from other local dealerships in NJ/NY/CT, but they matched what I thought to be an un-matchable deal offered to me by another dealership further away. Only problem is now my wife wants to trade in her 08' Lexus GX470 for a GL that she saw there lol
If you have another lux car - Lexus or BMW mainly - drive it and make sure the salesman sees it. They are always trying to steal customers from each other. The moment they see you as very serious they'll reach a good deal with you quickly rather than endless negotiation. I don't have time for the latter anyway as I'm a quick dealmaker in everything I do as long as I get what I want. I'm also not a nickle and dimer. My actual price is $840 (I ended up changing to $2k down on a 33 month lease) and with tax works out to $912. Mercedes of Freehold. The Pewter color made the deal and the SUV had everything I wanted (PO2 + RSES). They seem to be rare in that color (I haven't seen one yet) and the GL looked great in that color. It takes on different color variations in different light. The national price right now is $739 (+ tax) on a 48 month deal with $5K down and $7K driveaway costs and only 10K miles a year on a $68k MSRP. I didn't want a long lease or a high DP. Good luck with your shopping.
For folks in NJ/NY looking for good deals: I got mine from a dealership called Contemporary in Little Silver (Monmouth). I thought they wouldn't compete with highway stores but once there, my salesperson (named Joe) was awesome. He went over everything and explained so much to me that it made the whole process actually enjoyable instead of how those guys up in Edison and Freehold treat you like a mill. They bend over backwards to accomodate you (at least my salesperson did). More than fair. Bring your best deal and check with them b/c from what I could tell, as long as you are there, they will meet or beat and seem to have much better service. One of my tires was a little bit deflated and I called Joe and he took care of everything immediately for me. I can't say enough about the experience. I leased in April-08 Black/Black ML350-P1/Running/554/33mo/10K
I helped someone lease an 08 E350 4Matic on Saturday. MSRP of 57,XXX. Sold for 52,XXX. Car had P1 package, NC sport package, Ipod adapter, walnut interior, and metallic paint. MF was 0.0005 and residual for 33 months and 12,000 miles per year was 57%. Leased for $690 per month. Only $690 due at signing. All fees (taxes, MV, doc fee, etc.) were added to the cap cost of the lease. This was at DavidMichael Mercedes Benz of Freehold, NJ. Peter
