Re: Price paid for C350 LS [WRXwgn]

Wow!! Anyone get anything this good recently? I am looking at a C230 but if they're giving away C350s for $6K under invoice it's the same price. Any chance of getting the C230 for significantly under invoice like that as well? I live in Las Vegas which is hell for buying a car. There is only 1 MB dealer (as well as only 1 Audi, 1 Saab, 1 Acura, 1 Lexus..one of everything basically except dealers that sell cars I would never buy like Chevy). This means that I have to drive to SoCal to get a decent deal on anything. But 500 miles return is definitely worth saving a few thousand dollars. Thanks for any replies.

The advertized lease is $2500 down and $329 a month. What they're offering you is $3100 (trade and money)and $358 a month. Doesn't sound all that good to me....my two cents.

Dealer told me 71% Residual for 10,000 miles a year and 70% for 12,000 and the MF he "thought" was .0024 which seems kind of high for a lease special. Still trying to work out a better deal myself. Last day of the month today, he may be motivated.

Hi there, I too am looking at this lease. As advertized by MB it is $329 a month for 27 months with 10K a year on MSRP of $32,185 with $2500 down, and $795 aquisition. Is is realistic to aim for the $329 monthly payment but with $0 down and 12K miles per year? Thanks.

"If you are willing to buy a car with such high mileage, consider a Lexus LS430 instead. Even if the car were to need major repairs (doubtful) they would be far less costly. You would still be getting a luxury car." Hmmmm, not sure about that either. You'll have airbags fail on a Lexus, $1500 per wheel. The display on the radio and climate will fail, hundreds more, the power steering will leak on the alternator, taking out the alternator - there are issues on an old Lexus too. Not saying they're not good, just not perfect as is sometimes implied. At high mileage, anything is gonna cost ya. If you have $23,000 to spend, you could get an 04 Lincoln LS, an 02 Jaguar S-Type, or about an 02 C-230 frankly, that would give you quite a bit of life. I do agree - that S-430 is for someone who has money for repairs.

I NEVER put money down on a lease - if it's required, it's no deal. I agree with the host entirely on this matter. Besides, it flies in the face of leasing to begin with! The reason I'm leasing, is to keep my cash in my wallet, and amortize the depreciation of the car over a period of time with monthly payments. If I'm going to decap the lease, I should buy, then at least, my down would count as equity in the car.
