How is this possible?
by kostia on Thu Sep 25 07:42:15 PDT 2008
A friend just picked up P1 Running boards and roof boards 10k/33 mo $2500 includes drive off plus down $525 including tax in MA He picked it up in NY/NJ not sure where, ezlease or something like that. I am wondering how the hell is this possible? Is it really possible to have so much off when advertised specials are not even close to these prices?

You'll never know unless you ask. If you make it a walk-away point, you most likely will either get the deal or something closer than what you have now. You could always still shop around at other dealers, if there are any close enough. You really have nothing to lose, worse comes to worst you get the deal you have now.

That's a very good price. We bought one with the same color options a few weeks ago, I don't see many pewter cars-which I definitely like. We also got the P2 but with 4matic since we live in MA, and leather seats, we ended up paying 54K for ours which also included bluetooth and keyless go. If you factor those extras out your deal is very similar. The car is great, we love it so far. We needed a bigger car than our RX330 when we had another child and this fits the bill perfectly. I'm still surprised that I can sit comfortably in the third row, I'm 6' 230lbs. I wish there was a bit more room behind the third row, but nothing out there has appreciably more room unless you go for a suburban. The 1.9% financing is, in my mind, too good to turn down. Even with the market the way it is you can definitely do better than a 1.9% return on any investment over the next six years and be in a good position when you trade it in.

I read the above post with a grain or two of salt (pardon the expresssion). Cars "imported from MA or upstate NY have "road salt damage to the sensors". Thats a new one on me. Additionally, upstate NY cars and MA cars have no more salt exposure than any other eastern car and in any case with modern cars you just don't see "salt damage" for at least a decade. Me thinks that the 70K mile service would be a far better way to go, anyway. The sales tax alone on a new car would be far more than THREE of these services and what do four premium tires cost from the Tirerack cost, $475 with NO sales tax.

I am also looking to buy a 2003 ML320.I live in the Boston area. So far the mileage is 65k and priced around $15k from a private party.the car is silver color and black interior. it has all the options except navigation system. All the car services were done through the MB dealer in westwood MA.It had one owner so far.The exterior is in excellent shape. It only needs new tires. Can anybody tell if I am getting a good deal at around $15K or not .? thank you

Ma'am: The important thing is that you got your dream car and you are happy with your deal. It's truly a fine automobile. May you drive it in good health. For others looking to lease a CLK, you'll find that the MB website advertises the CLK at $449/month for 27 months with $3,994 due at signing. Be sure to read the fine print on the miles however...
