Hi Car Man + others Here is the most recent deal I was given. They gave me this price with essentially 0 haggling. The price includes a winter certificate and something else they didn't mention. I'm self-employed and do not count in any employee pricing/fleet discount. '12 GLK 4 matic. MSRP: 43,635 Neg: 37,000 P1, COMAND, Heated seats NO conquest or loyalty. 30 months / 15k Year Monthly: $472 including tax Residual: .62% Money Factor: .00165 (marked up by .00030) Due at signing: 2000 (DMV, first months, acquisition fee, window etching) I don't want to pay for the etching of the VIN's, or pay for the inflated money factor. I called 10 different dealerships and they either thought the deal i was given was bogus or I was crazy. One sales manager was super nice and patient and agreed to give me the vehicle at the Neg. price of 37,000 and no window etching and a MF of .00155...but it requires a 300 mile round trip. No dealer I've found will give me the money factor of .00135 (which is approximately a $20/month savings). I've been in touch with dealers in CT/MA/NY. Can anyone recommend a dealer who does not inflate MF's or is this is good as it gets? Thanks!!

Hi Josera It was Estate Motors in Goldens Bridge, NY. In order to get a good deal you need to let them know that you know the appropriate money factor, residual value(30 month lease 67%), invoice, msrp, etc. of the car you are interested in. If you have an (upscale car) Acura, Audi, BMW, etc. Mercedes is offering a $2000 conquest discount on top of the price you negotiate. If you have the lease payments taken directly out of your checking account that could also reduce the money factor. I also showed them some offers I received using Truecar. com prices from dealers farther away like in Fairfield county, CT and NJ. That also helped with negotiations. The better educated you are the more likely the better deal you can negotiate. I wound up getting a better deal than I thought I would get, particularly the money factor and residual value. Good luck and let me know how you make out. The forum says I cannot give you the salesperson's name. It is a shame because he was straight forward. I told him I wanted a deal that was fair for both of us given what I knew. I did not try to squeeze him for every last dollar and he appreciated that so it all worked out well for both of us. I did receive an extra benefit to doing that from the salesmen. Please do not use my numbers exactly as I am not picking up the car until the end of the month and I do not want any problems with the dealership.

2012 c300 sport 4matic lease question by ctmbdriver on Sat Oct 22 16:38:54 PDT 2011

Hello all, I am looking to lease a 2012 C300 sport 4matic, and while the price, residual value and money factor all sound great, the monthly payments were very high. These are the details: Sticker price 43,370 negotiated down to 39,600 residual value 29,057 money factor .00195 monthly payment for 30 month lease, 15k miles per year (with CT sales tax) $525!?!? When I pressed for details, the dealer told me that there is also a rental charge that MB charges, they claim non-negotiable, which was $4,160.67 for this lease. Is this rental charge above and beyond the money factor really typical of all MB leases? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
