Great deal. Our local MB dealer had a used GL320 CDI with 8k miles. Same package you bought. They were asking $82k for it. They cannot be bought new in CA so they are a real hot item.
Best price?

What would be a reasonable price for a 2008 350, P2, metallic paint, wood steering wheel, iPod connector, voice control, power trunk closure? I'm in the San Diego area, but can easily go to LA, San Francisco, Sacramento and surrounding areas. Are Internet deals better than that of dealers, or is that an "it depends" question? Thank you for your help! Richard

You should already have an invoice with all the charges. That should be given to your CU to cut a check for the dealer. He is not going to let you out the door without the money from your bank or CU. It sounds like they are doing a loan. Then you would have to pay off the loan company along with a months interest or more. Better talk to your CU before you sign anything. I buy out of state most of the time. I take the money with me and have all that in writing before I get on the plane. It is real risky just going a long distance and finding out they are going to try and charge you more than agreed upon over the phone. I hate phone deals anyway. Get it IN Writing or email.

I just figured that out when they did not offer EU delivery. Oh well Alabama might be nice to visit. I really like the desert silver with tan leather. Don't like the low profile tire look or ride. I had them on a 2005 Passat and the ride was too harsh.
GL450 stripped or loaded

We just went and looked at 8 new GL450s at San Diego Mercedes. It seems you can buy one that is stripped for about $59K window sticker or you get one with way more stuff than you want for $73k. We actually want the GL320 CDI with leather, Premium one & sunroof no entertainment doodads or fancy low profile wheels and tires. Should have a MSRP of about $62k. Can those be done on a European delivery? I do like that SUV.

I have a 2006 R500 that I internet shopped in the L.A. area. I got a local San Diego dealer to match. I would try that first. Having said that, I have a 2005 Jaguar X-type that I bought from Jaguar of South Bay (Torrance, CA, about 100 miles from home), and I have only had the vehicle serviced locally at the only San Diego Jaguar Dealer. They have been absolutely courteous and have never even asked me why I bought elsewhere. In a nutshell, I would try to get your local dealer to match your best price. If they won't, I wouldn't worry about the local dealer not servicing your vehicle. Under warranty, the dealers get reimbursed very well by the factory by anything that needs attention. The only "discrimination" I have found is my local Benz dealer provides C280 loan cars only to customers who have bought their vehicles there. Everyone else gets an Enterprise Rent A Car - not a terrible consequence. Good luck and work the dealers!
