Bagelguy, I'd complain not only to BBB, but to whoever might (supposedly) regulate auto dealers in your State. In CA the DMV licenses salespeople and dealerships. And don't forget MB customer relations. I'd suggest the dealer give you an 09 since the 08s are "unavailable" -- and finally, most District Attorneys (at least here in CA) have funding for consumer fraud sorts of problems -- e.g. sham auto services -- and perhaps contact from a DA investigator would soften the dealership's heart. (However, don't tell the dealer you will contact law enforcement unless he changes -- you don't want to commit extortion and threatening police/DA contact actually constitutes that crime -- if you go that route, just make a report. And I sure wouldn't worry about future service relationships! There are plenty of dealerships willing to "inspect" things every 15K miles, add oil, and charge $500.

I'm considering an E class wagon; but can't seem to get any information on leasing. Are there any supported/subsidized leases out there? Anyone who has made any deals in CA???

If you are in Southern California, so is the world's largest Mercedes dealer. Fletcher Jones in Newport Beach. They sell and lease a huge number of cars each month -- I'd certainly check with them.

It all depends on the lease language!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You might also have "gap insurance" which essentially pays off a totaled vehicle in full, covering the difference between depreciated value and selling price when you have purchased a new car. But you gotta read that lease very, very carefully.

The world's largest Mercedes dealer is Fletcher Jones, in Newport Beach/Costa Mesa. Ask for Mike McMullen. They sell/lease as many cars/month as most dealerships do in a year. Huge selection.
LEASING A WAGON -- WHY SO MUCH MORE?
by myerslaw on Thu Feb 08 20:17:09 PST 2007
When I was much more actively seeking to lease a 2007 E, I simply couldn't find a 'deal" anything like the promotions for the sedan models. Inconsistent logic prevailed -- e.g. more people want them, they are rare, so the MSRP rules; but they have a significantly lower residual value, so the rates are higher. Anyone know why there is such a problem?????
