If you are in Southern California, so is the world's largest Mercedes dealer. Fletcher Jones in Newport Beach. They sell and lease a huge number of cars each month -- I'd certainly check with them.

The world's largest Mercedes dealer is Fletcher Jones, in Newport Beach/Costa Mesa. Ask for Mike McMullen. They sell/lease as many cars/month as most dealerships do in a year. Huge selection.
Re: Got it for $1400 below invoice. Is that good? [anthony555]

Anthony555: I have never actually purchased from carsdirect but I do use them as leverage in negociations. I usually use carsdirect, a few direct emails to dealers, Costco Auto Buying service, and sites like this. Costco works really good for my new Suburban every few years and carsdirect saved me about $1,000 on on 04 Cayenne because the CarsDirect dealer was low balling to move them and thus helped me with the Newport Beach dealer. Nearly $6,000 off MSRP on a GL450 is below "invoice" so I'm not quite sure if there is a dealer holdback. I know that it pays to shop until a few dealers tell you no.
New R delivered with swirl marks
by gtli on Sun Oct 08 12:56:53 PDT 2006
R500 delivered to home in Vegas from dealer in Newport Beach Noticed swirl marks, sales asst who delivered said no problem. Took to dealer, FJ LV, they made me pay and wait for FJ CA to reimburse detailed, swirls still there. Sales agent in CA said to bring to my own detailer (one of best in town ) to see if he could do anything. If not, told me to let him know and....? Not sure. Very unhappy. Advice? What recourse do I have? CA dealer acknowledges was delivered that way.

MSRP $63,575. Cap cost $51,525,one pay $13,700, plus $399 to drive it to Vegas from Newport Beach. Great service from CA, their sister dealership here in town has rocks for brains, terrible service. I was a live one, approved for tier one credit on Thursday.Told 'em exactly what I wnated, 48 hours later, they hadn't started to look. Called their newport Beach store, 3 hours later, while in the dealership here in town waiting for the sales guy to explain why he had not found a car for me, the other guys called and in about 4 mins we cut a deal. Think will take your advice and go for the 27 months. Thanks for the guidance.

I confirmed with Caliber Motors in Anaheim, CA on 9/1/06 that the MF and residuals are the same as Aug for 12K mi/yr for 27 mth lease. They still have 40+ R's in stock, so does Fletcher Jones in New Port Beach. Best in $ would have been Fletcher Jones on 8/31/06. The sales manager was willing to sell any R class with 11% off MSRP +$7000 off. This would have been right at or below 5.5% holdback. Of course, they had over 70 R's when I visited.them. If you are in Orange County, it would've been foolish not to buy from them. But I live too far from their dealership. Downtown LA has been known for their low prices and they came very close to Fletcher for me. Obviously DTLA's dealership does not have the same ambiance as Fletcher, and Fletcher will wash your car once a week for the life of your car. Southbay was also very willing to go at 4.5% into holdback. Keys Mercedes has a very smart, friendly, but intelligently intimidating sales manager. Keys didn't willing to dig into holdback for the one-of-a-kind-optioned R350. Penske was very friendly but extremely busy internet department. We were there Tuesday night and most of the sales person were signing papers. The internet mamager gave us the keys and let us look at the vehicle by ourselves (no driving of course). There internet pricing was above others.
