BUY, BUY, BUY... and get on with your ZOOM ZOOM!!! Mazda 3 models sell pretty much as fast as they arrive, sometimes before they're even off the boat. You are literally haggling over a few dollars on a minimally marked-up car with a high content value. The profit margin (Invoice to MSRP) on a 2006 Mazda 3i Touring Sedan with an automatic, here in Dallas/Fort worth after advertising assessment, is $929. If I sold those at invoice all day long... I would only gain my hold-back of $320. Then I pay my Sales Consultant a minimum commission of $100, Accounting takes $70 for detail, fuel, and inspection, and our store "pac" takes $200 for operating costs. Suddenly... I lost $50 "REAL MONEY" and have to explain, to my GM, why a car selling as well as the Mazda 3 lost money. Every deal has the potential to be extremely different from the previous... trade, payoff, credit, down, term, lender, even dealership actions and processes. Anything around invoice is a great deal yet the car has a minimal mark-up to offer high value from the get-go. ZOOM ZOOM

YES!!! It's a great deal! Here in Dallas/Fort Worth that's a price which is $26 under invoice. If the dealer actually has the car you want and you're in the market to buy now...pull the trigger. ZOOM ZOOM!!! :)

No need for paranoia or second guessing. Car buying websites such as Edmunds and Cars.com are not able to account for each and every regions advertising cost(assessment) which is why there is a disclaimer link specifically informing consumers about advertising fees. The assessment is part of the actual invoice for the actual vehicle you're looking at. Here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area our typical assessment on a Mazda 3 ranges from $280 to $365...depending on trim level and model. This is definately something we find ourselves easily explaining many times a week. The concern you should truly have is if there are questionable dealer fees or documentation fees on your buyers order. Documentation fees are legit as long as they're not overblown...Texas allows us to charge a state maximum of $50. Keep in mind that other states have their own parameters. ZOOM ZOOM!!! :)

Yes... it's true. Most of these websites are great tools and offer as much accurate info possible. Unfortunately, not everything can be accounted for with the possibility of variances, in different areas of the country. MNAO(Mazda North American Operations) assessment is a dealer co-operative to assist with advertising costs. If an area is assessed this charge it will be listed on the factory invoice. It is a cost factor for the dealership and is part of the invoice amount. Our Dallas/Fort Worth assessment is currently $176 on 2006 Mazda 3 models. My invoice on the same car you're looking at would be $16,037(14,961/BASE INV+340/ABS,SAB,SAC INV+560/DEST+176/DFW ASSESS=$16,037). The price you've been quoted appears to be $289 over the invoice on that particular car, if equipped the way you listed and I reiterated. That is a good deal for yourself and a reluctantly agreeable deal for the dealer. Take advantage if the car you actually want is available. I know that Mazda 3 models, at my dealership, have an average "lot" time from off the truck to sold of 48 to 72 hours. Keep in mind that the Mazda 3 is one of the best values when it comes to price vs product... just ask Edmunds. ;)

Just to shed some light on the subject... sell Mazdas in Fort Worth, Tx. My two Mazda 3 sales this past weekend were both to extremely educated consumers. They were aware that the Mazda 3 has no manufacturer's support in the form of factory incentives, and also aware that there is only a limited amount of profit from invoice to MSRP. These folks were very pleasurable to deal with and had already done some on-line research, as well drive other vehicles which might be in the same segment as the award-winning Mazda 3. Long story short... MSRP on one and MSRP+$156 tint on the other=HAPPY PEOPLE WHO KNEW ALL ABOUT THE FIGURES IN THE CAR AND PAYED MSRP!!! Bottom line... Mazda's are pretty well equipped from the start and value priced from the get-go. They saw this in regards to what they got for their money. These folks felt that the product justified the price not just for the car, but also for the warranty which includes roadside assistance and loaner car. Apparently, a huge amount of consumers feel the same way since supply is depleted nationwide. Believe me when I say that they aren't all being sold at invoice. The car itself has a lot to do with that if people are doing their cross-shopping and seeing that nothing else truly stacks up in this Japenese compact segment.
