Just purchased 09 GT-FWD
by teddie001 on Sun Nov 01 01:31:22 PDT 2009
I just purchased a storm blue 09 GT-FWD with moonroof/bose + nav system + towing package + bumper guard + splash guard + wheel lock. I was offered $32,127 (MSRP $3968X?) that was $4500 off the invoice. I learned from this forum that there could be room for cutting several hundred $ more on price, however, in my area (Austin, TX), there were only 2 fully loaded 09 GT-FWDs from 2 different dealers. I did not have enough choices to make me a better negotiator. The other dealer did drop the price below $32,000, but I don't like its silver color. I ended up with the $32,127 one. I am kind of satisfied with the price I paid; I know it's not a great price, $7500 off the MSRP is good enough though. The OTD I paid is $34774 (TAX + license fee + doc fee +......). When I went through the paper work, the sales guy even told that I can write off the sales TAX (about $2000 in my case) for my 2009 tax return. He said this is the part of the stimulus package passed at the beginning of this year. wow, what a good surprise! I was also offered an extended warranty (total care), $1400 for 7year/100,000m, I have not accepted it yet, is this a good deal? Or, CX-9 scores high on reliability, do I really need to extend the standard warranty? Did you guys purchase the extended warranty? I am not an experienced Mazda owner; this one is my first mazda. Thanks all

We just got a Blue/Sand CX-9 with 30 miles on it for $25,295 invoice. Our experience with sales and financing was great. We live in Austin, TX and bought it from Mazda South dealership.

I think that's a good deal. We just bought a FWD CX-9 Sport, blue on black, with no extra accessories (really? auto headlights aren't standard on all cars yet???) in Austin, TX for $24,944. You're gonna get the same vehicle with more accessories for that price which I think is great! We tried to get the dealer down further but he wouldn't budge and there are very few of this color in the state and they're popular (thus driving up the price a bit) so we went with it. We had credit union financing at 3.7% and they couldn't beat it and we weren't previous Mazda owners. We had an OTD price of $27K which included a $300 service package with 7 oil changes and lifetime vehicle inspections. We plan to keep this car for the next 10 years so we thought it was worth it. Otherwise, there was only a doc fee of $45 and TTL. They didn't try to slip any weird fees on the PO at the last minute. I had hoped to get the car for less based on other posts here but we got just below Edmunds TMV so we're pleased. Good luck!
Where are these deals coming from???

my husband and i went to a mazda dealer today in austin tx and told them we were prepared to be their easiest sale this morning. we asked for a CX-9 sport (no additional pachages) for mid $23K +TTL (MSRP was $30K) and we basically got laughed at. they said their best deal was $26K (MSRP - $4000 dealer cash). how is everyone getting $7K off MSRP??? what dealerships in houston and san antonio did the above posters work with to get such great deals?

I just bought a new 2008 Mazda3 Silver Grand Touring 5-speed manual with moonroof/6-disk changer/Bose for $18,500 + TTL at Roger Beasley Mazda in Austin, TX this afternoon. Negotiated down from $23,095 sticker - $2000 Mazda cash back - $500 customer loyalty. Is this a pretty good deal? I don't see how it can't be with nearly $4600 from sticker (though there were about $500 in BS options like pinstriping, etc.). I love the leather seats and Bose.

I tried hard to get a CX-9 '08 saturday for 9k off MSRP (austin,TX). The lowest I got was $7500 off. Their deal ends today. So I guess I'll wait and see if they come down. I have time. I was able to get them to mark down a '09 $3500 off MSRP btw.
