I asked for a $1000 under invoice and 1.9 financing at Westcott but was countered with $750 under and 1.9. I ended up paying $550 under invoice because the car I wanted had to be obtained from another dealer. It was the best deal of the three local SD Mazada dealers. I'm not complaining. Man, if I could also get that deal, I would drive to SD! However, it's a 200 mi drive for me, so I'd like to call your salesperson before making the trip. Would you please provide his/her name, phone no. and any other relevant info. Thanks, pv
Any good dealer to deal with in SD? Trying to buy my first car

Hi all, I am a first time car buyer in San Diego. I read through some of the post on this form and did some research on the Mazda3 I like to buy at well. As most ppl suggested, I emailed all of the dealers in San Diego for price quote so I can get an idea before I drive all the way there. Most of the dealer replied but do not want to give me a price although I give very specific describtion: I want a Mazda3 GT 4 dr with Auto transmission with color either red, white, silver or black with no add on. I personally think its a really big range already, I mean I am pretty much saying I am not picky at color at all. Almost all the dealer ask me to go in and talk ...the only one replied to me is El Cajon Mazda. The internet manager told me that he is selling mazda3 at $300 over invoice for all mazda3 he has. I dono if this is a trick to get me in or not...as a first time car buyer..I just finished college last year..going to a dealership is somehow a very scary thing for me..especially I am a girl who really dont know much about car @.@~ So basicly I am terried to face car dealer ...does anyone have any good experience with any mazda dealer in San Diego that I should start try to work with? Any help is appreciated. thanks :)

The problem with that model is you are posting your prices on the internet for EVERYONE to see. If I am your competition down the street all I have to do is beat your number by $100. I would even use it in my advertising. "Shop Redacr first but come see Guss last. We guarantee to beat his posted prices."

since salespeople add no value to the car buying experience..i say oh well. and yes i sold cars too. The first dealer principle to figure this out will make a ton. All u need is a staff of college kids/young adults..train them in the product..pay them a flat hourly rate along with a stipend for tuition..offer no haggle pricing...have test mules and you'll be set. Have a real internet division that frequents ubb boards associated with that make. word will travel fast when people hear that they can go to a dealership and not feel threathened, test drive and get a decent price. man if i had a few million in cash...

Call them(the dealers up). Would they lied to you? There are usually a plaque around the service area and it shows how many cars were sold last year. The one I purchase from has banners in the showroom saying they were the highest sellers for the last 5 years. The plague stated they sold 850 Mazda cars last year. That's around 3-4 Mazdas a day, 90-120 a good month(minus the slow cold weather months around here).
