Sounds like an excellent deal. I've had my Manual Mazda5 for little over a week, and we've taken 2 long drives; one to Central Florida and back for 600 miles and another down to Key Largo and back for about 200 miles. No complaints; roomy quiet, handles well, and feels stronger than 153 horsepower. We traded in a 2003 Pontiac Vibe GT 6 speed manual with the 180 horsepower Yamaha engine, and the Mazda 5 feels like it has the stronger engine. If the offer does include the dealer fees and you like the car, and they're not going to take the deal away from you with high interest or extra fees in the finance room, I would say, go for it.
New for me: 03 LX
by fastmasters on Tue Jul 01 04:39:55 PDT 2008
Just picked up a 03 LX with 49,500 miles for $7400 in central IL. Clean little car, just drove a 1500 mile trip on it and liked what I felt. What advice would owners add? BTW-STILL enjoying my '86 B2000, and had to put down my 84 GLC about seven years ago. It served me very well-over 215K and no timing replaced. Guess you'd say I'm a Mazda loyalist? :)

If you are doing this for gas mileage reasons, you will never come close to recouping. I agree; I ran the numbers and if I were to trade my 28 mpg Mazdaspeed3 for something that got 35 mpg I'd save $1.20 a day. That's assuming an annual mileage of 15,000 and gas at $4.10/gallon. Anyway, I doubt I could find a true four seat car that gets 35 mpg AND runs the 1/4 mile in 14 seconds flat...

Hey Dan what dealership did you go through for this lease? I live in Central Florida and would be willing to drive down south for a really good deal. Congrats on the new car. I am looking to lease a Mazda3 Hatchback. Thanks in advance, Michelle
Mazda3s MT Sedan - Seems like a steal
by oldballcoach on Tue May 20 19:18:13 PDT 2008
Am I missing something? The new 2008 Mazda3 (2.3L) Manual Tranny sedan "Old" Touring Edition that I looked at today had a MSRP of $18,198 on the sticker ($17,435 base price + $78 Mats + $50 Wheel Locks + $635 destination). The dealership here in central Maryland offered to sell it for a MRSP of $16,227 (includes the $635 destination) + $100 Dealer processing fee + $237 for tags and title. My out the door price, based on MD 6% tax would be $17,558. I have done a lot of reading on this forum. This seems like a great price for a Mazda3 S-edition with Manual Transmission. Am I missing anything?
Re: Value Package [sandman46]

What is included in this Value Package? The best deal is the Mazdaspeed 3. It can go to a HPDE and mix it up with 350Zs, Boxsters, and E36 M3s all day, return 23 mpg in everyday driving, and it's dirt cheap considering the level of performance you get. That's what I call a REAL Value Package... ;)
