Oh Yea, there is a $500 termination fee, is this standard and can it be negotiated at all? Thanks!

Oh yes, robbyg, I am everywhere ;) . Here's the information that you're looking for. Mazda's November buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2010 Mazda5 Touring with 12,000 miles per year are .00192 and 46%, respectively. Mazda is not offering lease support on 2009 models any longer. Car_man Host Prices Paid: Buying & Leasing Experiences Forum

Jayrider, Thanks for breaking it down for me. Other than the rent charge calculation your math is right. For the rent charge it should be 28605 + 14713 = 43,318 X .00075 = 32.49 I don't understand what Mazda is doing to the acquisition fee though. I did the numbers on their $399 example on the website and I can't figure out how the acquisition fee is charged. Oh and one more thing, the overstock price for my zip code is $29,584. I know that there is a $1,000 factory to dealer cash incentive but it doesn't seem that anyone was/is able to get that combined with special financing or special lease.
Got mine yesterday
by vicenac on Fri Nov 13 11:11:26 PST 2009
I finally got my 2010 GT. it had to be brought from 100 miles away. Not much inventory, at all. The dealer told me he has an incentive of 750. If he passes the incentive to me, then he can't give me the lowest APR. So I had to chose. I went to Capital One and I got approved a lower APR then the lowest the dealer could offer. They sent me a blank check so I went to the dealer with it. The sales manager said they'll try to beat the APR. When I got to the finance manager, the games begun! They don't want to take the check from Capital One. They had bad experience from them, honoring the checks with great delay. They would let me take the car home (I was putting down 5k) if I would promise to bring a cashier's check with the balance, or they'll offer me their lowest APR (not possible before). I went outside and called Capital One to find out if they can send a cashier's check. Nope. Their advice was to go to another dealer. I went back in the office and told them that Capital One would send the check, but cannot guarantee the 7 days. So I'd like to get their lowest (4.9). Keep in mind the price included the 750 incentive which could not have been combined with the 4.9, but it can be. After running all the numbers, everything goes through. Then the extended warranty battle. 1700. Nope. Oh wait there is a coupon! 200 bucks OFF. Nope. OK, then I'll raise your APR back. Hold on what's that? Well, the coupon also includes a low APR of 3.75 for the entire loan. So I said yes. Now I've got the car for 21.500+1500 extended at 3.75. I didn't go there to leave the dealer naked. I expect them to be there when I need service. But that's a good reading of what your own financing can bring. The initial APR they wanted to offer, was 5.9.
DO NOT BUY FROM Gwatney Mazda in Memphis, TN
by roguelvr on Tue Nov 10 10:14:29 PST 2009
DO NOT purchase from them. I was in the market for the new BLACK 2010 CX-7 iSport. Monday night, I negotiated the price, and the sales guy called me and said ok come get it for the price, but you have to come today, 10 minutes later called me back and said "I am sorry we can't do that" I was ready with the money, and to sign and be done. Oh did he make me mad! So I said forget it no I don't want to buy from them. Friday morning, the Mr. Gwatney calls me and apologizes and says the sales guy got fired he didn't PAY ATTENTION TO DETAIL. So he says he wants my business and we still don't meet at the price I want, but met somewhere close and I agreed around 5pm Friday. I couldn't get there Friday so we agreed I would come first thing in the morning. He even made a smart remark "Come early in the morning, so I can make money the rest of the day" It hit me wrong but I left it alone. Saturday Morning I get there, I just wanted to sign the paper, give my money and drive off the car and I am walking around and guess what I see? NO BLACK CX-7! RIGHT THEN, he pulls up and says "Oh well no one talked to me about color" WHAT A BUNCHA LIES! First thing we said to him was I want a black Cx-7 iSport with the convince package. He even had nerves to say "Who wants a black car in Memphis?" I was furious by the way they handle their customers, and walked out and left the dealership.I would not recommend anyone to purchase from them! They ruined the entire buying process from the start. They didn't screw up once, but TWICE!! Gwatney Mazda dealership does not know how to deal with customers!
2009 CX-9 GT purchase and first impressions
by tripl3threat on Tue Oct 20 10:40:58 PDT 2009
Thanks to this forum, I had the info I needed to negotiate a cash purchase of a 2009 CX-9 GT with the following options: 1. GT Assist 2. Bose/Moonroof 3. Splashgaurds 4. Roof rails I got the $4,500 factory to dealer incentive off invoice, for a total price of $33,000. Less trade-in, plus TTL for an OTD price of $34,500. I choose the Stormy Blue on Sand - they had two left last week with these options (white and silver). Dealer = Lee Johnson, Kirkland WA. Similar deal available at University Mazda (they have black/black as well). BTW - for additional options, I've put in an order with mazdaparts.org (not .com) - free shipping over $100 and about 20% below dealer cost. Just ordered all weather floor mats, cargo mat, roof rack crossbars (grrr that those aren't standard) and a cargo net for about $350. Oh yeah, and a jar touch-up paint because that first door ding is probably just around the corner. After a week - I've found nothing I don't like about this car. The negative comments I've read about not having a trip MPG computer are not applicable to the 09 - the mpg computer is full featured and really nice. I hated the NAV unit the first time I drove the 08 model, but after a week, I like it much better than my Garmin Nuvi. Added and unexpected feature - it finds media files on my Windows Phone and plays them over BT. Only DOH so far is that I whacked a curb on 2nd day pulling into a lot. No damage to wheel or tire - and I whacked it pretty hard. Looks like there is a coating on the rims to prevent brake dust build up, and that held up too. Still sucked. Use to driving a much smaller car.
