08 or 09 Mazda3's
by redlinez on Wed Sep 10 05:59:52 PDT 2008
Here in Cary NC, I was offerred $500 below invoice on 08 or 09 3's. I'm also trying to drive a 09 Honda Fit sport 5 speed today. What sucks is when you're ready to buy with no trade (sold it), you can find a car to save your life. But when you have a trade in, everything's available, and you car isn't worth jack diddly. I had to rent a car yesterday.
Mazda 6 shopping experience

I couldn't find the old "fantasy prices" forum, but I figured I needed to share this one. I'm interested in the Mazda 6 hatchback, and wanted to look at one with the V6 and 5-speed. Unfortunately my local dealer doesn't have such an animal, but I was able to give a good walkaround to one with the auto, and test drive a sedan with the V6 and manual. But get a load of this pricing... the sedan I drove (6s Sport, 5 speed, moonroof/bose, leather) had an MSRP of $26485, but they had a $1495 bump sticker... and then the "employee pricing" yellow tag showing $24147. I was told that included the $2000 factory rebate, and was "the best deal, bar none" because they were "not making any money at these prices, except for the doc fee, and only 30% of that is actually profit." Hard to believe that with S-plan, I wouldn't even be able to get out the door for MSRP-rebate, and the dealer still whines he isn't making any money. I don't want a 6 that badly, or even bad enough to search for one now. And of course, I'll get to hear this dealer's commercials here in eastern NC, where a guy that sounds like Ross Perot or Mr. Hainey from Green Acres (depends on who you ask) tells us "If it has our name on it, you have our worrrrrrrd on it!"
rebates on 2004 mazda6
by abird on Mon May 16 18:30:02 PDT 2005
According to edmunds, "up to $4000" plus another $1000 if you finance with Mazda. After I saw this, I spent some time tracking down 6cyl, manual trans. I didn't care too much about body style (slight preference toward wagon). Preferred a raging deal to lots of options--really, would have been happy with a base model. I found a hatchback in Austin, TX and a loaded sedan in CT, both on autotrader. Was seriously considering the hatchback, but the fellow in TX told me the rebate was $3000 plus $1000--you get the extra $1000 for the wagon. I then found a redfire 5 speed wagon with beige interior 2 hrs away in Charlotte, NC through a labor intensive process of searching the 10 closest dealers to nearby cities in GA, TN, SC, and NC on the mazdausa website. It has the luxury package (leather, power drivers seat, etc), fog lights, wheel locks. Plenty of automatic wagons, but this was the only 5 speed I found. Bought it yesterday for $17242 plus tax, tag, fees for a total of just under $19000 out the door. That was 200 under invoice in addition to $5000 in rebates : ) I got 200 under invoice by protesting the $500 "doc. fee" that they stated they could not budge for legal reasons. This is the most fun vehicle I've owned! Happy hunting!
2005 S

2005 S model, 6cyl, auto trans, FWD (don't need AWD in NC), $18,300 after the 3000 rebate. No upgrade packages. I bought it the Saturday before Xmas, (went in the 1st week in Dec to test drive), and there was NOBODY in the showroom.   I drove an '04 in August, w/ 5-speed and it was about the same price although the '05's had come out.   I am not a big fan of the interior looks where the radio is but everything else is great.
RE: Help with Pricing 2004 Mazda6 Sports Wag 5 speed
by savez on Tue Dec 21 09:09:27 PST 2004
I am negotiating for the above-- very nice dealer (Cary, NC) is iffering me a price of $18,880 (w/out all the taxes, etc) for this car with leather interior, etc.. but NO 6 CD changer--he tells me I am paying $750 over invoice. Edmunds listed this same car as going for $18,425; with 6cd in dash: $18,826... Any wiggle room you know of? I need to make a decision quickly-- thanks!!!

Awww, come on gang! Can't all of you techie types out there read a little REAL page in the 2005 Mazda 3 propaganda brochure? Well gee, I hate to disagree (:, but I think this is the right forum, 'cause I want to buy a hatchback, and all I am asking is if anyone knows what color Carbon Gray Mica is -- Its right there in the back page of the folder! See?!??!?! ... it says so! Did'jya find it yet?? It says Special Edition with a Bose and 7 speakers including powered sub woofers, EQ and an in dash 6CD changer -- leather BROWN or black interior, heated front seats, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlights, pollen filter (LED taillights on the 5 door) -- for the 4 door S OR the 5 door! So... any one have an idea? The local dealer says his Regional contact in and around the western NC flatlands sure don't know -- all I get is a ... " ...well, it must be a new name for Titanium Gray," or... "...about the same color as Titanium Gray," or other such helpful, deeply penetrating insight. Its enough to make me go get a 5-speed Altima or a Jetta TDI or something... The color strip in the brochure, I swear, is the SAME color as Black Mica! The Mazda.Com site doesn't say near enough, at least when I last checked it, or even had anything on the 2005s. I get more information from the translated German or Japanese based web sites than I do from the North American site (sorry, but true -- like the Turbo Diesel powered Mazda I read about....hmmm? If gas prices keep hitting the roof, 48 MPG sounds awfully good for a torquy little clean burning diesel) So what's the real deal? I DO plan on buying a manual hatchback with most of the goodies -- who needs the high dollar exterior appearance package on the hatchback or the navigation package -- this car is gonna be fun gettin' lost in! I have just about settled on a Strato Blue or Black Mica with leather, the Xenon package, the ABS package, and the Moonroof/CD changer package, depending on which one shows up first, but I am very curious about this new color. I may even lose out and get with a Winning Blue the dealer says he has located for me, but I might regret my current, highly impatient salivating if the Carbon comes out and it is THE color I like! If the Carbon "pops" like the Velocity Red, but has a tint about the same color as the Mazda 6, then I want it! So please, all you great gurus that might have "deeper knowledge," take pity on this old man and let me know before I go nuts...!!
