Re: Quote over the phone any good? [kyfdx]

Yes, thanks, kyfdx, I did go to page 2. All the prices I mentioned in my post (MSRP, INVOICE, and TMV) are Edmund's "National Base Price". After "regional adj" and "dest. charge", Edmund's TMV comes to $18,939. Another dealer I just spoke to would only give an estimate over the phone, not a quote. His estimate is $19,000 (which is close to TMV $18,939) + NY taxes and fees would be about $21,200. I forgot to ask if dest. charge is alread included. He agrees the first dealer I spoke is just trying to "wake" me up with his low $17,200 quote.
is it a good deal?

I would concur with that idea as well. You may have to wait for July, as it typically a much slower sales month. Quotas for the month of June have already been met or exceeded. As it stands, the price of $16,883 sounds awfully good to me, plus tax, tags, and title. I wouldn't get greedy. Unless there is some financial kickback from Mazda USA to the dealer for this particular model, I think you are already there at the bottom price.

I purchased my i touring value edition on 5/31/08 in NY. The options where auto, moonroof, wheel locks. MSRP $19070, I paid $17,600 for the car, $1518 taxes, $10 inspection fee, $12.50 tire recycling fee, $45 registration fee, $150 plate fee (I received a $15 refund from the state), = total out the door $19335.50 I also got the 5 year 3.9% financing.
2009 Mazda 3...heatable outside mirrors coming?
by ike3 on Wed Jun 18 19:37:14 PDT 2008
A bit off topic, but this is a very active board. Spoke to an area Mazda dealer here in western NY state. He thinks that heatable outside mirrors will be available on the Touring and Grand Touring versions. Release of the 2009 model is in September. Any sales type read or heard similar? If this is true, it will be the first time this feature is available for the U.S. market. Canada has been getting this feature all along, except for the base model. Also, will LED tail lights and brake lights be available on lower trim levels for '09?
