3i Touring in MA
by longislander1 on Wed Sep 23 08:36:24 PDT 2009
This is the best I was able to do on price around Worcester, MA for a 3i Touring with automatic, gunmetal color (numbers below approximate): $17,971 negotiated price $1,111,94 sales tax $239 dealer fee (I asked them to remove this from the original negotiated price of $18,210 so they could add it back on at the bottom of the sales invoice, where it's pre-printed.) $125 dealer fee for tags $115 tags $19,561.94 OTD I was helping a relative shop for the car and I found the two dealers in the area pretty immovable on price beyond their only internet offers. Both were initially willing to let me walk. Of course, where I live on Long Island, I'd have 10 dealers to choose from in the same radius, so there might be more competition. I would have liked another $500 off in addition to the dealer fee, which is largely profit.

Just got a quote in MA for a 09 CX9 touring with sand leather interior, 3.7l v6, roof rails, wheel locks, auto, ac, cd, carpet for $28100 after rebates + TTL. The other is a GT for 34 + TTL. Thoughts?
Opinion on CX9 AWD price
by jnunes7750 on Thu Sep 03 14:24:33 PDT 2009
Hi All, I've been searching for a while and have found one that fits what we were looking for pretty close. CX9 GT AWD, with Bose, Nav package. Price quote from the dealer is 34,425, list is 40,215. This includes the 4K and omits any financing.... it does not include any ttl. I'm thinking that I can do better based on what I have read here. FYI, I'm in the north east (RI/MA dealers) Thanks, J~ :)
2009 Sport w/ Manual Shift in Boston Area
by pi_man on Thu Aug 13 16:02:39 PDT 2009
Was looking two weeks ago and sent email requests for out-the-door prices (recommended by these forums) to about 6 dealers. I was trading in my 2000 MPV (157K miles) as Cash for Clunkers. Got a good price from Tully Mazda in NH ($11,653 + TTL + all-weather mats + rear bumper plate), but since that was a hike, waited to get more prices. Nobody else really gave me a good price. Friday morning I called and the car was gone. There were questions whether CfC would get more money, plus MA tax rate was going up, plus the $1750 Mazda rebate was ending, so I wanted to do it. More calls during Friday and found only one available 60 miles away. The dealer said that he had a customer willing to pay $12,900 for it, so that was it. The next week Congress gives another $2B and I'm back in the market. I check Mazda inventory within 50 miles on the website and there are 10 with manual shift. This past Friday I send some emails back to the dealerships again. This time I get a response from Ira Mazda (20 miles away) with an OTD price of $18,160. I respond back that I'm doing CfC, so I subtract the $4500 + $500 from Mazda, plus the difference in Sales Tax, and it is less than $12,000, which I think is pretty good since I thought the $1750 went away. I send him my figures and he agrees. I'm waiting to see if more dealers respond. I talk to a different NH dealer (Werner Mazda) who had 2 available, but he wants $500 over list because he says the list price is going up for the 2010's so he feels he can get the increase early. I told him I was not interested because I already got a much better price. Wellesley Mazda is the closest, but they want $17,000 + $444 doc fees (ignoring the CfC component). I'm getting antsy because I don't want to lose the Ira car too, so the next day I drive up and end up getting it. The deal was even better because I (and the internet guy) didn't know about the $150 you get for the salvage value of the clunker. It ended up being right around $11,670 + TTL. The salesman was busy but he was good. I'd recommend them. Just picked it up today, after the dealer got the authorization for CfC. Since I am transferring plates, I still have to go back one more time to pick up the registration and sticker (and for them to install the bumper step plate since it had to be ordered). Checked the Mazda inventory website again, and it still shows 10 available Manual Shift, so I don't know how accurate it is. (Hope this message wasn't too wordy)
Re: July Lease Rates [tbrouillard]
by kushalsherpa on Mon Jul 27 10:19:36 PDT 2009
I just got a 2010 Mazda 3i Touring, Base Pkg, Manual Trans for $0 Down, 10000 miles, 36 months lease for $189/month with $295 fee in Ira Mazda Danvers, MA. This was the best deal i could every find. After $1000 down, my payment came out to be $164/month. Even though i go over in mileage, its only 15 cents/mile. Ira Danvers had the best deal around Mass and New Hampshire
Urgent: Mazda 3 2010 i Touring Price, OTD - did I pay too much?
by sunny_hokie on Sun Jul 26 19:46:07 PDT 2009
I'm new to this group and love that people are so willing to help! Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. Here's my deal. I actually have 2 questions. 1. I've been shopping for a 2010 Mazda 3 i Touring Auto, base trim, wheel locks and no other options. I've visited 4 showrooms and probably spent about 3-4 weeks. After all that research, today we put down $200 (advance) on the car at a showroom in MA. This is what I will be paying for it - MSRP : $19,150 Invoice : $17,980 EdmundsTMV : $18,539 My Offer: $17,000 !! (about $1000 below invoice) Acquisition $595.00 (sounds high?) Registration $109.50 Dealer Fees $295.00 (lesser than some other dealers) Tax $850.00 ------------------------------------------- OTD: $18,849! I know the Dealer Fees sounds like a lot (and it probably has a lot of his profit built in) but he wouldn't budge on it. Since I had done some research on Edmunds, I knew this was a great price and showed interest. Infact, it was past dealer's close time and I went ahead and put $200 deposit on it since he was cribbing about not bieng able to give me this again. The deposit is refundable and quite honestly I was getting weary after 3 hours of negotiating. After I got back home, I spent another 3 hours on the net and quite honestly, I'm still not sure if this is a great deal. The apparent dishonesty of the dealers has left me constantly concerned about bieng duped.. Please Help if you've recently purchased, or are looking to purchase a similar vehicle. 2. i AM looking to lease this vehicle but for obvious reasons did not bring it up till late in my negotiations with the dealer. I'll be a first time leaser and since there's so much to know, even after lots of research hours, I'm still a little confused. This is what the dealer had to offer on the lease: 15,000 Miles 36 Months Money Factor: unfortunately, I don't remember Residual Value: I think it was 55% Trade-in: $1000 Down Payment: $1500 Monthly Payment : $179/mo . This includes Sales Tax, Plate and registration. Does this sound reasonable? Is the Money Factor and Residual value consistent among dealers in a state for a particular vehicle or can they wary? I know that for the month of July 36 month / 15000 mi per year lease is .00185. The residual value is 53% of MSRP. Should I fight for this or does the low offer ($17,000) that I got seem like a good deal regardless? I plan to go in again to sign the papers.. but you think I'm making abig mistake, pelase let me know asap! THANKS MUCH!
