Bought a 2008.5 Mazda3 5-door Grand Touring
by 2hokies2 on Fri Jun 13 19:40:12 PDT 2008
I just picked up a 2008.5 Mazda3 5-door Grand Touring in Crystal White Pearl Mica with the Air Dam, Cargo Tray, All-Weather Mats, Compass/Autodim, Moonroof/6CD/Bose, SIRIUS, Moonroof Wind Deflector and the CWP Charge of $200. Sticker was $24,798 . The internet sales manage provided a quote of $22,700 and I ended up paying about $22,250 with the 3.9% before taxes, etc. Took it off the showroom floor at Ourisman Mazda in Laurel, MD. I had talked to the internet sales manager before, but he could not locate a white one, so I waited. He contacted me the day it arrived and I drove it off the showroom floor with 5 miles on it later that evening. I couldn't be happier with the dealer. I did some research on Edmunds right after he sent the quote and I went down ready to buy. I offered him a monthly payment ($400/month), a term (60 mos.) a down payment ($2,000) and a finance rate (3.9%) and said "make it happen". We finally agreed on $403/mo. after the sales manager made an original offer of $453/mo (which would have meant paying MSRP!!! HA!). I think I also made them very disappointed when I turned down all the add-ons like undercoatings and extended warranties. But the finance guy was very nice and did not charge me extra for the Chesapeake Bay tags. Hope this helps!
Got my Mazda 3 finally!!!

Made what I think was a fantastic score after researching and taking bids for two month I saved $1000 less than my next closest offer in my area. I got a auto i touring value edition (yes, the newer version) for $17254 OTD! I don't have the exact figures but this is close enough to give you an idea. tags - $230 taxes $950 processing $100 Ben Starke at Ourisman Mazda in Laurel MD came in with the lowest offer without knowing my other 10 or so offers. He promised he would not hassle me trying to increase the price and make the transaction quick and painless. I went totally expecting it to fail but he totally kept to his word. Great personality and knew the vehicle. I didn't feel pressured (other than my own cautiousness that he would pull something which he didn't ;) ) I only go to the trouble to write this because of al the hassles I received from other dealers while shopping. So he deserves the credit. I know who Im checking with first for my next car.
Re: Really Bad Experince [jdb4]

I also had a very bad experience at Ourisman Mazda in Laurel, MD. I got three difference stories from the sales person and two of the sales managers and in the end I'm not really sure any of the information was accurate. After trying to work out a deal for a week, I finally just walked out and will not be going back to that dealership. I had done quite a bit of research on the Mazda3 and it would have been my first Mazda.
Really Bad Experince
by jdb4 on Sun Feb 12 21:58:34 PST 2006
I recently(on a Monday) visited Ourisman Mazda of Laurel in MD and took a test drive of Mazda 3 and fell in love with it. After lengthy discussion with the sales manager, I came to the conclusion the car is out of my price range. Then on saturday the sales person called and left me a voice mail that the dealer was now willing to sell the car for the price I offered on my first visit. I called and confirmed the price on the phone as well as through email. Of course once I got to the dealer, the price had changed. I informed the sales manager that the sales person confirmed and it was in fact the sales person who had initiated the contact. The real kicker to this whole deal is that after about 15 minutes the manager gave a final offer which included taxes and tags. When I tried to negotiate from that price, the manager informed me that the price did not include taxes and title. Suffice to say that I left the dealer and even though I loved the 3, I have removed it from my list. Just wondering if anybody had a similar experince either at the dealer mentioned above or at any other mazda dealer. I have bought 2 toyotas, 1 GM and 1 dodge and this was the absolute worst car buying experince I have ever had.
