Re: Quote for CX7 GT AWD [hondalegend]

With higher pricing gas, despite how I like the sporty looking, CX7 isn't really competitive to it's peers considering it's size and preminum 'recommended' gas hog. Seems dealer's stock is getting slow moving now, I will try to negociate a little lower price w/ a decent financing, hope it's gonna work out...

My deal is $239 plus tax a month for 24 month 10.5k miles(23 months payment from my pocket actually). Dealer give me absolute $0 drive off so the first month payment and all other fee are being taken care by them from whatever rebate or so. Only down side is the car has 64 miles on it and dealer admit, despite it is 2008 model, it has been on their lot for over 180 days. That is why give a bit aggressive pricing. With total amount of payment $239x 23=5497 plus tax and nothing for drive off, I took the car and have them give me cargo cover. I saw petty much same the deal from them on the newspaper next day - http://newspaperads.mercurynews.com/ROP/ads.aspx?advid=596546&adid=5891890&subid- - - =20292455&type= I have to say, I really enjoy the car. Being a RX-8 owner for 4 years, I was worry that that might be a huge down grade for the fun of driving. However, it isn't. Test drove the TL, G35 and Accord before making this decision. I like CX-7 's usability and the fun to drive. With a lot cheaper price. I do not drive over 6k miles a year, so the poor gas mileage is OK for me.

Jesus, $48 will barely get you thru a week or so of gasolene. Many folks may get taken for $300-500 for these "fees". $48 is 0.28% of a 17000 purchase, and if you financed and didn't agressively pursue different options from credit unions etc you may have left $500-1500 there over 5 years. If you didn't get at least $2000 or so off the msrp, exclusive of financing you possibly left $300 or so there too. Regardless, letting $48 spoil your day is downright dumb. It is among the more reasonable fees dealers charge. Lifes too short. Enjoy the car man! --jjf recently bought a Mazda 3 08 Sport automatic. I got a very good price on it and had done my homework to be aware of most dealer fees that I might be charged. I figured tax/title/tag fees were not determined by the dealer. I was charged a $66 fee and told to just pick up my tags when my letter arrived in the mail. When I got to the tax office in GA, I realized that I had been charged a $66 fee for what is an $18 service. The rest ($48) is an "administrative fee" charged by the dealer. This was NOT explained to me when I bought the car. New tags cost me an additional $20. The amount, granted, is not a large one at all but on principle, I feel cheated for having been given the impression that those were the fees charged by the GA tax office. Please read your buyer's order carefully and ask the dealer what the title/tag fee includes explicitly. Don't agree to anything else. This was at Mazda Roswell. I came away a rather happy customer originally but this small scam has really left a bad taste in my mouth.

Re: California Pricing [winedogs]

Good point...still, with gas prices, economy etc... I know the 2.9% is scheduled to be done 2/29, but I'm hoping for an extension or maybe something even better. But you are right, will probably be tough since they are selling well and have won the recent awards. We really want to get our hands on one, but want to put off for the next month or so. Any favorable dealerships in Chicago area?
How much should I pay?
by kidschlepper on Tue Feb 26 02:25:46 PST 2008
I have been looking to purchase a new vehicle to replace my '02 Honda Odyssey. I've looked at Cx-9, Highlander, Pilot, Sequoia, Arcadia. I love the room of the Sequoia but feel a little glutenous with the gas consumption etc. I have 3 kids ages 5-11 and a huge dog that goes everywhere with us. Anyway, I am getting way off topic. I am leaning toward the CX-9. I am looking at the GT AWD '08 model. I really don't care about the color although I do like the Crystal white pearl. For options I would want: GT Assistance package Moonroof/Bose Roof rails (for the bubble/skis that I know we will need with this smaller car) All weather floor matts (for obvious reasons/messy dogs and kids) Cargo matt Auto dim compass homelink mirror Blind spot monitor (which is standard on late model '08's I think) So what should this bad boy cost me? I live in MA. I will be buying in March/April, no hurry though. I will not be trading in my minivan. Thanks and any input would be appreciated,
