Mazda5 Sport Auto, Pref Pkg
by edik on Sat Feb 02 17:15:27 PST 2008
Two days ago I paid in Jacksonville,FL 2008 Mazda5 Sport Auto with Pop.Eq. package $18450. Out of the door price ~19500. Almost got an optional fog lights for the same price, but I've made a mistake by going to another dealership (B) and telling them the quotes from the previous one (A). As it came out later, they were affiliates and they contacted each other. Dealer B gave me ridicoluosly low price for trade-in and high price for the new one. It gave dealer A the opportunity to erase from the original deal the fog lights - "we gave you the good price anyway, even without the fog light, we know that you went to dealer B and know what numbers they proposed". Since we have only 3 dealers in the city in can be the scheme. I would give an advise, do not tell the quote from another dealer (unless you are 100% positive they are not related) - if they want to give you a good price, they will give you anyway (if you not afraid of giving them crazy_low_numbers), but do not give them the opportunity to play with you. P.S. I love the car!

I bought an 08 GT w/ Tech pkg (silver/sand) on Fri 9/28; in Jacksonville, FL, Duval Mazda/Avenues. MSRP w/ dealer options $31995; negot to $28,400. (Own financing thru credit union, 5.25 @ 60 months.) Very pleased w/ salesman, dealership, and vehicle! Thanks to all on this site - the research I had from the TMV and the info on posts helped me to know what options I did want, didnt need, what I should pay for them. Replaced an 03 Toyota 4Runner - very happy w/ the drivability/pick up/comfort of the CX7.

Gas Coupon
by sandman46 on Wed Jun 29 09:53:53 PDT 2005
This came right from the dealer with some other coupons that had expired on June 10th. The gas coupon had no end date so they reluctantly accepted it. With us, they used the $500. as a downpayment plus they would only allow $2500. to be put on the Shell Mastercard. Now all they need to do is locate a car, which they just called and said possibly tomorrow and definitely by friday, as a ship just docked up in Jacksonville. We'll see though, but he did say the deal is made and they will honor it even if it goes into the early part of next week. So far, they've been pretty upfront and their location is sweet...right outside our development, like 2 1/2 miles door to door. Will keep y'all posted. I think we did pretty good with getting invoice and the use of the 2 coupons and getting an acceptable price on our trade which Terry nailed to the dollar! The Sandman
Luvin my new RX-8
by rx8_is_great on Sat Sep 27 04:46:33 PDT 2003
Just bought this fantastic car (even despite the HP difference) and have really enjoyed it so far! I have been reading a lot of posts on what people are paying and trying to pay, etc and will share my experience. I live in Southern GA and found a "fully" loaded RX-8 for MSRP of $34,865; I haggled them down from 34.8 to $31,365. (including the $500 rebate for graduating college -- thanks to my wife's recent grad) I wasn't comfortable with the deal so I called Jacksonville, FL to see what their deals were...I was shocked to hear from their General manager that they "weren't" discounting at all. I'm still not sure who and why someone would pay "sticker" price but each to their own. The dealer at Jacksonville told me he'd recommend that I'd go purchase the one I discussed earlier. Oh well, 2 days later and now I'm driving my RX-8, which I paid $31,600 out the door with taxes/tags after a 1,300 credit for trading my Honda Accord in... Good luck to all RX-8 enthusiasts.
