Sentry West Lincoln
I just purchased a Mazda 3 S Grand Touring from Sentry West.
I used Edmunds.com to solicit prices from area dealerships. While Sentry didn't come in as the lowest option originally, I advised their internet sales group of the other offers (would prefer to stay more local) and they matched the other offers.
I visited the dealership (make an appointment if possible to avoid a short wait) and was very pleased with their staff. Derek escorted me on the test drive and was very knowledgeable of the car and its features.
I decided to purchase and the rest of the experience became easier still.
Finance Manager Bob did not pressure me into unwanted (by me anyways) add-ons such as paint protection and extended warranties (can always revisit extending before orig warranty runs out).
I was going to settle for the 4.9 % financing from Mazda, but he actually found me a better rate!
We had a bad experience at Herb Chambers Toyota in Auburn with their finance group - initial paperwork had all sorts of add-ons...warranty, rust proof, paint protection....crazy....never go to Herb again!
Dealership Manager was very pleasant as well.
I had visited another dealership and when informing my father of this, he said, "Go to Sentry, they treated me very nicely when I bought my Mercury Sable " - I thought, "OK, old man...." - but he was correct.
No hidden costs - no hassle - no add-ons - very nice car buying experience.
I hope not to have to service my new Mazda very often, but I hope that their service department is as good as their sales department.
Best of luck to you.
Hi clanolear: I too have purchased a vehicle recently from Sentry West Shrewsbury. Yes I can say that the sales rep that I had did not pressure me to purchase something that day like other dealers can be. Call ever day every hour. He let me think about. He was very flexible. I was originally going in to look at the Milan and when that didn't work out, not enough headroom, He went out to suggest the Sable. He took his time with me to go over everything even when it took a week to decide. A few weeks after I purchased the Sable I noticed that the leather seats where turning a hint of blue. It was picking up the color from my jean, which have been washed a million times and a year old. I have been calling the sales rep and leaving message for weeks now. I have not been able to get in touch with him. I did get to talk with a different Sales Manager, not the one that I did the paperwork with, and all he could say was to bring it into service. Not very optomistic. I did want to give my Rep one more try on this past Monday, had to leave a voicemail message, again. It is Thursday and I still have not heard from him or the Sales Manager to I signed papers with. Also, I just read the customer satisfactory survey that Sentry West sent me and one of the question is that did the sales dept call after a time to follow-up with you to see if you are satisfied. No I still have not heard from the Sales Dept. I guess my mother was right, once they make their commission that you will never hear from them again. they howd you for days for your business and then never get back to you and they just refer you to the Service Dept. Why is there a fine line between Sales & Service. If you have a concern the Rep should help you thru it. "Once a Salesmen always a Salesmen". So I want to say "Good Luck" in the Car Business. Sincerly, B34
