Re: MF and Residuals on '08 Cooper (non S) [Car_man]: by gcotterman on Fri Jun 13 14:28:50 PDT 2008; Hi Car Man, Just receied a quote from Midwestern Auto Group in Columbus Oh on 2 and 3 year leases with 76% and 66% residuals respectively (10,000 mi/yr). Also the quote included a money factor of .00359 which seemed a little high. Payments were 348 and 359/mo with 3k down. Do you know what BMW's money factors are right now? Thanks, gman71

Went to Mini Calabasas -: by umpalumpa on Sun Jun 01 09:19:13 PDT 2008; yesterday i stopped in there and they were telling me on on the clubman - which they were all out of btw - they were seeing no money down leases in the $600 range! that is crazy for a car w/ such high residuals and relatively low price. so they are definitely messing around with the money factor...oh and the $3000 markup hurts too! people are buying them, so i guess they can do what they want. Question: will leasing through a service like leasecompare or carsdirect eliminate the markup that most dealers are charging?

iPod, Nav/Bluetooth Dealer Add Options Experience: by pgaston1 on Wed Dec 26 07:02:40 PST 2007; I just bought a Coupe - excellent vehicle! Just some thoughts on dealer add options: iPod integration - For $580 (last year this was $300) the functionality is slightly above first gen iPod players (i.e., only does playlists, acts like a CD player - ughh). Oh yeah, despite 'being new', it doesn't support the iPhone. Use the free aux input and your iPod/iPhone interface. Bluetooth/Nav. Real surprise here - For $850 I thought I was getting bluetooth integrated into the car audio (like my '06 Volvo - for $600 there.) Nope - go figure. Instead you get a 3" by 3" box - last years Garmin, retails for $499 (i.e., not up-to-date on current features.) Live and learn. i.e., steer clear of these options or, at least be knowledgeable. (Dealer was Mini of Peabody - but I'm sure all push for these high-profit items...)

At first I thought they were too tacky. but then the mini is like such a little toy car and so cute, it reallyd oes call out for stripes! I may return this one after my 1 year lease and buy a new one and if so I'll probably get stripes.

You need top tier credit to get this. I'm doing 12k 36 month lease with only drive off fees and my monthly is going to be like $376 with the total having been about $26,500. What kind of numbers were they giving you? Oh, I'm in California as well. I think the state you are in also comes into play with the MF. With the 1/2 pt. decrease in interest rates today, I am going to fight for a lower MF. Logically speaking it should go down. Here's what I did to try and find the current Buy Rate. I called dealers and asked to speak to the financing guys. Spin your own story and if you're lucky you'll get the rate out of them. Call when they are busy. Post what you find out!
