Try here for more forums on the Mini outside of Edmunds, who is also listed as a reference on this search. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Mini+cooper+forums&btnG=Google+Search Ray T.

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner, just read the post. Nearest dealer to Poughkeepsie is either Westchester BMW/Mini or Prestige Mini ( http://www.prestigemini.com ) in Ramsey, N.J off 17 (where I bought mine from) about 50 miles from Potown. Buying experience was excellent :) , I dealt with the sales manager himself. Expect to pay MSRP (maybe they'll throw in some floor mats & bonnet stripes) but don't be afraid to ask for under MSRP. If you order it will take approx 8 to 10 weeks I believe is what he told me (been contemplating upgrading to an "S"). I can go a little more into detail thru my e-mail rather than over this site so e-mail me with any questions, check my profile for e-mail address. Ray T.

Some Mini dealers are connected or share facilities with BMW dealers ie: Keeler Mini in Latham, N.Y., BMW & Mini share same service depts at this dealership. In those cases yes. I live across the street from Mid Hudson BMW in Poughkeespie, N.Y. but they will not service my Mini because they are not an authorized Mini delaer or service center. If you are out of warranty I'm sure they would be glad to do oil changes for you as well as service since authorized dealer no longer comes into play anymore once your out of warranty, you are free to have your Mini serviced anywhere you want at this point. It's competency that rules here though and do they have the equipment/ tecs to do it properly. Ray T.

is not unigue with the smuggness of some of the Mini dealerships and its sales people. When a dealer or its sale people treat you as an item and not a person they are putting the customer on the defense from the get go, not a good way to start off a potential sale, but typical of the "take it or leave" attitude of some dealers and sales staff.. Your driving 4 hours to a dealership indicates to me there is nothing closer to where you live, keep that in mind should you need service and the scheduled maintenance included under warranty with the purchase of a Mini. You also mentioned paying $30,000.00 for the Mini as you equipped it, thats no plain jane Mini. What options did you order ? The base convertible starts at $22420. My nearest dealer was an hour drive from home or 20 minutes from work, a big factor when considering my Mini purchase. Mini madness is still prevelant with sales of these cars but someday may subside to point of dealerships offering incentives to buy, but until the Mini Madness craze ends there will be dealers who take advantage of the supply and demand edge they have. Good luck on whatever your end decision is. Personally I would not travel 4 hours to a dealership knowing that it is the same trip required for service or repair work unless of course there is a closer dealer you did not mention. Ray T.

Mini is not introducing the Peugeot engine until 2007. It is considering two turbo charger versions for both Cooper and "S". The Cooper will also be available in base 115 h.p as is now. See link below. http://www.autoweek.com/news.cms?newsId=102232 rjoy if you have seen another article to the contrary copy and paste the link for all to read. I have seen nothing more than the Autoweek article on the new generation Mini. Ray T. :P
