sparkangelo, My forensic analysis provides the following results... MSRP........................................................ 28,100.00 Sell Price................................................... 26,604.43 Amounts Financed NY Sales tax @8.875%............................... 1,186.91 Gross Cap.................................................. 27,791.34 Cap Reduction............................................ 0.00 Adjusted Cap............................................. 27,791.34 Residual Factor.......................................... 62% Residual Value........................................... 17,422.00 Money Factor............................................. 0.00175 Term.......................................................... 39 Monthly Payment....................................... 345.00 Pre-Tax Payment....................................... 312.49 NY Sales Tax............................................. 8.875% All your data was correctly calculated, although, I could be a few pennies off due to rounding convention. The two most important items in any lease transaction are the selling price and money factor. If you qualify, be sure your money factor is the buy rate which is the rate with zero dealer profit (i.e., 0% reserves). I have no idea how good your selling price is without doing research. You should check Edmund's invoice pricing and incentives if you haven't already done so. I just purchased a 2010 Mini Cooper base model with the automatic. The dealership is Hassel MINI in Freeport, NY. My Motoring Advisor was very professional and provided great customer feedback and service. I was surprised to find out the gifts they give you when you get the car... I'll leave this as a surprise for prospective MINI buyers. I picked it up last night... my brand spanking new horizon blue metallic Cooper. The sticker price was $23,250 with auto, dual-pane sunroof (awesome), automatic climate system, and cold weather package. I only added black sport stripes, chrome mirror caps, chrome exhaust tip, and rubber floor mats. I also traded in 03 Honda Accord EXL with 69,300 miles. My OTD price was $16,310.00. I was pretty amped about the price, considering that there is not much room for negotiating on these MINIs. I was given the option credit of $1250 for the automatic. So far, 1st day has been great... really fun to drive. The only gripe I have is the stock stereo system. I want to upgrade but I hear the H/K system is not much of an upgrade for $750 and aftermkt systems are difficult to install. I guess I'll just have to motor along enjoying the sound of the engine.
Need a convertible by Thanksgiving Day (wife's 40th birthday). Are New York area dealers still getting full sticker price for the 2009 models? Seems to be a lot of inventory still left. Are the 2010s in the showroom yet? Would I get a better bang for my buck with a used one? Thanks!
Howdy guys...I just thought I'd share my shopping experience... Here's what we wanted... 07 Mini Cooper Premium Package Sport Package Convenience Package Cold Weather Package HiFi Sound System Oxygen Blue w/ white roof/mirrors MSRP $23,750 We got it for $23,250 (could have gotten it for $23,000 but would have had to drive 7 hours, and felt the extra $250 was worth the gas/time). So my suggestion to esgam is to try to get quotes from other areas, say Phoenix or possibly Vegas, and see if they are willing to deal and take that back to your local dealer.
Maybe you're right. I've only seen maybe a handful of the new MINIs here in NY since they were introduced. I see lots of the 1st gen.
