Re: Looking at purchasing a 2007 MC [holt07]: by ody02tjk on Fri Jun 29 08:37:32 PDT 2007; We are in the Towson/Lutherville area as well, and have been shopping for a fun 3rd car that gets great gas mileage. A MINI Convertible is our top choice, but we decided to go used to save some $. That being said, I have found that there are better deals to be had with MINI dealers in the DC metro area. There is more competition in that area, & they will negotiate some. MINI of Towson, and MINI of Belair are owned by the same dealership group, and will not negotiate below the other's prices. The fact that these dealers are selling on Ebay tells me that they are trying to get premium prices from all over. I just had to replace my Lexus last month(it was totalled), and seriously looked at a BMW X5. BMW of Towson was the least likely to negotiate, and I found much better deals from BMW dealers around DC. I hope this helps, and please post your feedback on where you buy.

um...you lost me: by tica on Thu Apr 26 07:32:21 PDT 2007; that's a boy-knowlege question about the hydraulic pump. I did a Google search and DID come up with some complaints about Mini's power steering giving out. However, it seemed to be on '04s and '05s.... I emailed a bunch of people on Craig's List in various crowded cities--NYC, Boston, DC and Chicago--who were trying to sell their Minis to see why they were selling and what their expeirence was. Two responded thus far and said they were selling to get a new Mini, and they said the power steering was stiff, as were BMWs I believe, but not a huge problem. MINE was DEFIITELY a problem--I broke a sweat trying to turn the sucker. I'm going to call the Mini mechnanics today and see if they know anythign. Maybe it was just that one car, and a fluke.

Sunroof, Cold weather package, ipod hookup, black leatherette and sport package, rubber floor mats, and all the standard options (A/C, power windows/mirrors, cruise control, steering wheel audio controls, DSC, Airbags, etc.) It has 50,000 miles on it, Avon Performance Tyres (non-run flats with 16k on them, lots of life left) that handle great, mechanically the car is great - all service done at dealer. Interior/Exterior is also in good condition. I'm looking for someone who wants to have as much fun driving this car as I have had!! For some reason I haven't had much interest, I don't know if it's the area (Balt/DC) or the season (winter) or ... If you are interested send me an email message. I've been asking $17995 but am open to offers. Thanks!

The wait will be 4 to 8 weeks and delivery would probably be $1000 at worst. Saving $1500 over the CA rip-offs they get away with.

Just picked up a new 05 S: by jxbst15 on Tue Sep 06 05:06:46 PDT 2005; When things are too good to be true at the dealership, I have to wonder if the MINI I bought last weekend will fall apart a la a Bugs Bunny cartoon and I'll be left on a seat holding a wheel as I plung over a cliff somewhere. Walked into the dealership and bought a loaded black 05 mini s in the DC area off the lot - paid MSRP ($27460) and got a hell of a deal on financing I wasn't expecting through BMW (had my own financing pre-arranged). The car did have an alarm I didn't want that the dealer installed, but not a deal breaker for me. It had all the packages + the LSD + the chrome lining inside + out + the chrono package. The whole transaction took less than 2 hours. Beautiful car, a ton of fun to drive so far!
