Emergency Repair

One evening the fin looking cover to the GPS system on the top back of my car blew off while exiting the car wash under the blowers. The next morning I called Walker GMC and Allen Gorum, a service advisor, told me to come to the shop (I live an hour away) so they could get a part ordered, if necessary. Upon arrival, Allen was quick to explain that they were busy but would see about my Acadia as soon as possible — which they did. I waited in the refreshment/waiting room with Allen keeping me updated as to when a tech would be free to look at the car, how long it would take if the part was ordered, the cost, etc. He was almost as happy as I was when he came to tell me that the part was actually there! He let me know when the tech started work on replacing the whole system and when I could expect the finished repair. I’m sure he treats all customers with the same attention, but I felt like he truly cared about me and my repair needs.

New Truck

Two separate occasions I tried making a purchase from one of the local GMC dealers in Baton Rouge. I was looking for a 6.5 ft bed Sierra 1500 4WD. I was told there were none in this region that I could try Texas. No other effort was give. I am from Alexandria and my family have purchased Vehicles from Walker for 30 years. One phone call and I now had 4 options in the region with a 6.5 ft bed. I received pictures via text, I selected what suited my needs and the deal was done. I made the drive up to put my eyes on the truck and scheduled a delivery two days later. I appreciate the dedication and hard work to serve my needs since I am two hours away. The convenience felt like I was making a purchase down the street from my home .

Terrible Service!!

I arrived at the dealers shop before the scheduled time of 8:15 this morning. I had made the appointment a week prior. I was greeted by a service adviser. I was told by the service adviser that my truck would not be looked at until after noon. I asked then why was my appointment at 08:15? He was not sure? Ok, I thought well maybe it won't take that long to repair or replace the recalled items, so I dropped the truck off, and had The courtesy driver bring me home. Around 3 pm, the courtesy driver,called to ask if I was ready to be picked up from home , to be delivered back to the dealership. I replied, that no one had called me to let me know if my vehicle was ready for pickup? He informed me that it was about time for him to get off of work, and he asked who had received my vehicle. I told him a Who it was.He said he would speak with him,and then he would call me right back. The courtesy driver did call me right away, and said that he was informed that the vehicle was not repaired because they were waiting on parts, and that it would most likely be next week before those parts arrived. You can maybe imagine what thoughts were going through my mind at this point?? For one, why didn't someone tell me that parts were not available when I arrived at 8:15?? Secondly, why wasn't I called, after noon when parts were not available?? Why was I told to be there at 8:15, when service was not available until afternoon?? This has to be at least the fourth or fifth time that I have been to the dealership for recalls? I'm a professional when it comes to my job, and I expect a little courtesy when it comes to yours. I did not make a scene like maybe I should have, but I can tell you that I'm very frustrated with Walker GMC, and actually, with any and all Walker dealerships. I had in mind to actually purchase a new 2016 Sierra 2500 Denali from Walker, or possibly a 2016 Toyota Tundra from Walker, but I assure you, after what I have been through today, that will never happen. I just wanted to let you know about my day.
