Re: MKX new lease program [07mkx]

If you are going to keep the vehicle until it dies I totally agree with your thoughts. I have paid cash for a number of long term vehicles and there is no doubt that is the cheapest way to go. However, there are reasons to lease. One, if you want a new car every 3 years, for whatever reason, leasing is a way to do so and fix your exposure to depreciation (some cars depreciate way faster than others and on new models that issue is always a gamble). Two, you always have warranty. Three, there are deals to be had on leases on the right car at the right time that make them financially attractive. Four, in certain business situations, leasing can offer some tax advantages. Five, since you are only paying for the amount of use you have with the car, that frees up capital for other investments that will actually give you a return on your money while if you got a deal or subsidised lease you are not paying much in interest on the lease itself. Some of the leases out there now are at or near zero percent interest. As the economy continues to tank, there will be more deals pop up. The car companies want to sell cars and will do what they have to in order to move the metal. For you, leasing makes no sense. For many, it makes a lot of sense.

You get an additional $1000 rebate if you currently have a Town Car.
New July Lease Rates

Car Man: Can you post the lease rates and residuals for the 2007 MKX Ultimate both AWD and FWD for 36 and 39 month leases with 12000 miles per year? The information was supposed to change today. Thank you.
No response

I don't know if we are supposed to e-mail Car Man direct or just post here. There never seem to be any responses here. It would be nice if he posted each month the residuals, money factors, and incentives for each vehicle. Then we would not have to ask and gamble on hearing back. I am sure there is lots more action on some of the other lease boards, so in fairness he is very busy.
Need Lease Payment calculated
by hardhawk on Wed May 02 14:22:45 PDT 2007
Car Man: Here is what I am looking at. 2007 MKZ FWD. MSRP of $34,465. Selling price of $32,661 less $500 rebate. 10,500 miles per year. 51% residual. 2.25% rate 39 month term. Dealer says payment is $494.90 per month. This may include about 8% sales tax on each payment. I am checking on that. What is your take on this?
Father in-law
by phkck on Thu Oct 14 08:05:12 PDT 2004
My father in-law just purchased an 04 Ultimate for $17,500 off sticker. The dealer (in Denver) advertised 5 Navigators for $19,000 off sticker. He said he did not qualify for a few rebates. As the story goes, a local dealership went under and he had bought their remaining inventory. The tag on the back says PRICE Lincoln/Mercury. If only he had called me I would probably be driving a Navigator. His sticker $57,xxx down to about $40,000.
