Pennoyer, Keep playing with their heads a little. I had the similar level of experiences, albeit with dealers in the Dallas, TX metro area. Only differences are: 1. We went with the 2008 Lexus ES 350 last July as opposed to the 2009 you maybe going for. 2. Our initial intent was to go CPO but eventually we went with a brand new one. 3. Our car that we eventually purchased has the Premium Plus Pkg, Navigation with backup camera, AFS-HID Headlights, Parking Sensor (F & R) and the Power Rear Sunshade. MSRP = $42575 approx. We ended up OTD on July 31 @ $37800 minus the $13.5k trade-in for my wife's 03 Honda Odyssey. The key for you now if to play your game until the end of the month and you should end up lower than what I got. There absolutely have to be someone willing to bite @ $36500 or lower for the package you are asking for. Honestly, I think in a downright ugly Auto market, you should set your target @ $35750 roughly with the intent to ultimately and in the worse case scenario, close it not higher than $36500. Good luck and let me know what you end up with. I am sure you will ultimately end up loving the car, it's a sweet and smooth ride. My wife drives ours in her commute to work daily.

Park place at plano. (Dallas, TX) emailed to the internet sales manager first, then called and negotiated over the phone. went to the dealership to close the deal, took about 2 hours total. A very smooth deal. From info of this forum, I believe $33K (base+dest) is ideal, but it's very difficult. did not want to take any more time to save a couple of hundred $.
First year redesign
by tmanmiata on Thu Mar 05 11:32:37 PST 2009
Just bought my wife a 09' RX FWD last Saturday with Premium, Liquid Graphite Finish 18" wheels, Cargo Mat, wheel lock and Rain Sensing wiper for $31652 which is a little more than $9000 under MSRP. We contacted 4 Lexus dealers in Dallas/Fort Worth area. The 09' RX is becoming a scarce commodity in our area too. We found 3 matched our color and options but 2 were sold during the time I was trading emails back and forth. The 3rd one was actually on "reserved", meaning someone agreed to buy but had not closed the deal yet. That deal somehow did not go through, and it is the one we ended up purchased. Can we get a better deal if we hold out? Probably, but chances are we won't get the color and options we wanted. There are plenty of Black 09' RX though, but being in Texas, Black is one color we cannot live with. I am sure people will get a great deal if they don't mind the color (there is one dealer has 7). Neither my wife nor myself like 2010's styling. Of course, that is all personal taste. One thing I do know is that there is always risk buying new/first year redesign model. I worked as a test engineer in the Automotive industries earlier in my career. What I learned quickly is that no matter how well the design or how much testing/simulation you do, there will be design and manufacturing defects. Manufacturers typically will make changes to their manufacturing process and/or redesign and implement them as they get more data based on warranty service and internal testing. Some choose to ignore the issues unless it is a safety hazard then (forced to) do a massive recall. As good as Toyata, it is no exception. For this reason, personally I will not buy a new/first year redesign model. ;)
Prive on new 2009 GX 470 in NJ
by yuliyakar on Mon Oct 06 15:12:12 PDT 2008
Hello: My friend in Europe wants to buy 2009 GX 470. We will be shipping it from NJ port. I am not sure where it is exactly. I live in Dallas, TX so it is better for me to search for one in NJ. Does anybody know the place that can deliver the car to the port and places that give good prices. I am thinking to contact the dealerships in the area but do not know where to start. Thanks in advance. Yuliya
