I live in San Antonio, TX and was quoted $39,000 OTD for an IS250 with premium package, nav,18in alloy wheels, HID headlamps, rear lip spoiler, preferred accessory package and window tint. Is this a good price for this area or should I keep on looking. Any info would be appreciated

When I first started talking to dealerships those were around the first prices they gave me (3 dealerships in Houston, TX and 1 in San Antonio. I don't have a Lexus dealership in my hometown, but I wanted to deal with someone closer to home. Houston is about 1.5 hrs away and San Antonio about 2.5) I also told them of the deals on this forum and one of them told me he didn't blame me for taking my business elsewhere because he could not beat that price. Another told me he sold the Lexus for around $39,000. I ended up buying from a Plano, TX dealership, paid $37,350. Plano is about a 4 hour drive from me, but I guess I will get my first couple of maintenance check ups from a Lexus dealer in Houston, and then after the 10,000 mile check up switch to the Toyota dealership locally and just make sure they stamp my maintenance book. I would think those guys would want to deal be paid something rather than nothing. Their managers must not be letting them deal. They could be selling more cars and making more money! Don't give up. You CAN getter a better deal and those dealerships lose out. You can believe they are still making money selling at $37!

I am from College Station and was going to check prices at the dealership in Austin, but when we drove through there on Friday (on the way to Kerville) it was raining like crazy. I did check Houston dealers, and San Antonio, but got the best price from TA at the Plano Lexus dealership. I got a 2007 w/ the navigation system (I guess you call that package II) for $37,350. (I posted $37,395 earlier but it is $37,350 with a drive out of around $39,950) I was still kind of lukewarm on the getting the Lexus because even at that price it is an expensive car. Today I was at the store and when I walked out a Lexus ES 350 was parked next to me and when I saw that car I thought "YES!!!! I REALLY like it." Not having a Lexus dealer here I did not get to make several trips to dealerships and check them out, so when I saw the car today I was thrilled!!

Hi texamau1, I've also been scouring all over Texas for a 400h. You got a great deal (46.5k) from what I have been offered and was wondering if you could give me a clue as to whom the salesperson was? I've been looking at used 06's for around $40-42k with 13k miles on them but would just rather buy new. You are so right about Texas...I figured I would buy in San Antonio/Dallas or Houston to get away from our recycling brothers but it hasn't made any difference. Anyway, I would like to be added to the fold... Thanks, k

I bought my wife an ES350 in May, one of the first in San Antonio Tx. There is only one dealer here and negotiations are "take it or leave it". I did manage to get $1000 off MSRP due to trying to special order an ES330 since October 05, but that's another long sales (nightmare) story.
