Strange Happening at TN Dealership
by frankluther on Mon May 14 05:06:47 PDT 2007
Last December, we ordered a 2007 GX 470 with ML/Navigation, Lexus Link, Rear Entertainment System, Satellite Radio except we did not a third row seat. The price was not great at $2000 over invoice, but much better than the local Memphis dealer and far less attitude. We placed a $2000 deposit and received confirmation from the Internet sales person. We were told that it would take 120 days for the SUV to arrive. In late January, we were told that we could not get the rear entertainment system unless we got the third row according to the Japanese production facility. So we told them to continue with the order without the rear entertainment system. In late March, I contacted my sales guy to get an update on delivery. We were hoping that it would arrive early. He confirmed that everything was fine with the order. During the third week of April, I called again to coordinate my trip to the city to pick up the car. He did not return my phone calls for two days. On the third day, the sales manager called and said that the order was never submitted. He was rather nonchalant about it. He offered no other explanation as to how this could happen and offered to return my deposit or reorder another SUV. He offered no other concessions. I am not much on conspiracy theories. The salesperson had multiple times to correct the situation. Why didn't he? Why did the Japanese production facility send the order change if the order was never submitted? I think they sold the SUV to someone else that saw the vehicle in the store for a higher price. Maybe someone like us, who did not want the third row. I don't believe the sales guy was that incompetent or blatantly lied over and over when we exchanged messages by saying that everything was fine on multiple occasions. He was promoted during this time and is still with the dealership, but I have not been able to reach him. We are angry and frustrated with the prospect of waiting until October for the SUV. We like the SUV, but don't care much for the front-end people. And we don't want to pay $50K and not get exactly what we want. Any suggestions for finding out what really happened? Do we have any recourse? I have been contemplating writing Lexus of North America to complain. Any suggestions are welcome. Thakns.
Memphis 350 AWD purchase
by willypeter on Wed Aug 30 20:14:10 PDT 2006
we will buy an 07 350 AWD tomorrow. It has leather, Nav, awd, about everything they could throw on it. Will post list in detail if anyone wants it. Dealer quoted $45683 and knocked $1800 off. We went in looking for an 06 end of year deal, but 07 was too good to pass on.

A lot of dealers will use a webpage template to save costs on designing a website. Many Infiniti dealers use the same template on their websites. The dealers in Nashville, Memphis, Louisville, and Huntsville share the same website design. All they did was change a few things. Its a great way to cut costs. Have you considered buying the car in Ohio and then driving it to your mother in Florida, and then flying back home?
price paid in Tennessee

I just ordered a fwd RX 330 with premium plus package, heated seats, 18" wheels, rain sensing wipers, cargo mats and wheel locks. List was $40,128 and could only get him $1200 off list and I've been working on it for 4 weeks now. However he did give me $3000-4000 more for my '01 Acura MDX than the other dealers in TN (This one is in Memphis). I don't think they're giving the discounts here they are in Texas or California. But I still feel good about the deal and really look forward to delivery. My only reservation is that it is going to be a Canadian car. Any thoughts about quality vs a Japanese car?
