Re: Prices paid for UL package? [robynl]

I recently purchased an ES350 at Lexus of Greenville, SC with premium package (leather & upgraded spound system). The sticker was $36,747; I paid $32,980 + tax, title, fees. That was 10.3% off sticker. Based on other buyer's feedback, that is a decent deal. I negotiated in parallel with 3 dealers over 2.5 days; two of them via internet initially then over the phone. All three quickly went to 7.5% like clockwork after a few rounds of negotiation. Once the local dealer believed I would buy the car somewhere else, they came to the party, which was good because the other guys only went to 8% as "final offer". Of course, value is in the eye of the beholder and others may not consider this a good deal. At a minimum, I would expect 8% off MSRP.

One other question before making a purchase decision - what is your opinion on the Sports suspension? Did you consider it when you made your purchase? Thanks for the reference to the 17" vs 18" wheel discussion. Maybe the 18" wheels are sufficient to get a little better handling? Thanks

Hi Gary! New deal - $57,500 for new '05 LS430. Modern Luxury package and 18' wheels. The '04 had been wrecked, so I gave it up. Feedback? Thanks.

Hi Gary! The car is equipped with the Modern Luxury package and the polished 18" wheels. I'm not sure of anything else. The MSRP new should be around 61,500 for an '05. I'm selling a 94 LS400 with 170,000 that I bought with 32,000 miles 8 years ago, so I'm in the car for the long run. This appears to work for me as the car is exactly the color I want both inside and out. I wonder if this is a good deal or should I keep looking? Thanks to you and Paul for your input.

I have an opportunity to purchase an '04 with 6,000 miles. The car has the luxury package - NAV, etc. and the sports package with 18' wheels. A Lexus dealership is offering the car for $50,000. Opinions, feedback?
