You don't need to register in CA/pay CA taxes if the vehicle is not operated in CA. Most of the dealers will ship the vehicle to whereever you live so you can register locally. I live in Seattle area and I won't recommend the Bellevue lexus. I bought mine (MSRP $48,473/Invoice 43,743[my price] - NV, CP, PM, PA, TO, WU etc.) from Oakland Lexus dealer and I am saving about 4K after shipping.

Mission Impossible - Base Model AWD: by sweetsoul on Wed Sep 09 18:26:34 PDT 2009; Very frustrated and disappointed with Lexus right now. I love this car, I want to buy this car, but I don't want any packages tacked on. They advertise the base model for the RX350 AWD to start at 39k, but apparently those don't actually exist. I have contacted 8 dealers and have heard the same story over and over again, they just aren't available. Why even have a base model if you are forced into purchasing the almost $3k premium package? Is this just fraudulent Lexus advertising? Apparently they can't even be ordered. Has anyone ever seen a base model RX350? Any advice? This is my last resort, I am very close to just giving up and buying a Venza. I live in PA.

Every 5,000 (10k for BMW) oil change and inspect brakes, fluids etc. Every so often they recommend a tire rotation and cabin filter. I pay my Infiniti dealer $45 for an oil change and he does all of the required inspections. I have bought tires through the years at Discount tire so they will do rotations for free for me even if the car isn't wearing their rubber. So I pay about $90 a year for maintenance and every once in a while I buy a new cabin filter.

Re: 2009 ES350 w/ nav +pa +hn [nkbuy]: by in23lls on Mon Aug 31 16:39:53 PDT 2009; well the maintenance is worth $3995 no tax, and they will also extend my warranty from 4 yrs/50k mile to 7 yrs/100k mile for no charge which that alone is worth $2495. you in order to get the extended warranty for free i have to pay the $3995 for the maintenence which they will pick up the car in my possesion, put it on a flat bed tow truck and do the maintenance in the dealership, at the same time give me a loaner car while my car is in the shop.. they will do these every 5k miles up to 50k miles.
