Any suggestions on negotiating out of state shipping? by tom_tseng on Wed Mar 10 10:04:33 PST 2010

I currently live in Portland and sadly there is only one dealer in Oregon. They quoted me a sad ~$1500 off a MSRP $49000 Rx. Thinking about getting the car from CA or WA then flatbed ship the car to OR. Anyone had experience in doing so? What are the things that I should take caution about? Thanks!

I have not visit them yet instead direct issue order with cash on hand, but looks Portland dealer only offer 2K discount from windows price, their price may be little better when I show my cash but can not expect too much. I contacted with Stevens Creek in south CA, their price is not idea enough too, only $3500 discount (my expect arround 4.5K-5K), another worry is CA tax (I am not sure they can waive sales tax for OR resident or not).

Very good negotiators. However, once I talk to dealer it seems no room for negotiation. Please help, I am a cash buyer and looking for 2010 RX350 AWD. Which dealer is best in OR and WA area. How much discount you can get out of MSRP.

Just bring the 09 350 AWD home. It has nv, premium plus, 18" wheels, Towing prep, cargo mat, and wheel locks for a msrp 46,181. O.T.D is 38,418 including all DMV work and processing fee. It's 7981 off msrp. 218 is for DMV etc. Is this a good deal? All negociation was done via email and paid cash. I found the postings are really helpful. Oh, by the way, I got it in Portland OR. No sales tax here!!
