Re: Lexus 350 - purchase [rajftp]

I just purchesed a new RX350 from Lexus of Portland and the dealer had a great selection. Didn't get a very good price. MSRP was 47,000. Paid $40,000 plus my trade in worth $5000. I normally don't buy without a better deal but I have been looking for the past few months and compared most vehicles in this class and some others. Looked seriously at the Mercedes M class but found the dealer's employees seemed somewhat aloof, as were(in my opinion) the BMW sales people. Sorry but I have a difficulty buying from someone that is talking down to me when I am looking to spend 40 to $50,000. The Acura MDX was my second choice, nice people and a nice vehicle but the local dealer didn't have the selection that Lexus had. Previously had a GMC Yukon and loved it but a little reluctant to buy GM due to their financial problems. Everything I found on reliability indicated the Lexus was as good as any and better than most. Very pleased with it so far. I purchased rather than leased, as I think the lease is a great deal-FOR THE DEALER!

Just bring the 09 350 AWD home. It has nv, premium plus, 18" wheels, Towing prep, cargo mat, and wheel locks for a msrp 46,181. O.T.D is 38,418 including all DMV work and processing fee. It's 7981 off msrp. 218 is for DMV etc. Is this a good deal? All negociation was done via email and paid cash. I found the postings are really helpful. Oh, by the way, I got it in Portland OR. No sales tax here!!

Contact the Internet Sales Department at Lexus of Riverside (Southern California). I had a very good experience leasing my 2005 RX 330 and having it shipped up to Portland, OR. The dept. manager and his staff were great!

I bought this vehicle this summer from Portland Maine Lexus with only 4800 miles on it. Absolutely "like new" and total load. Paid $33,500 US for it. Seems a bit high according to some of the postings I see here, however I priced the same thing in a 2008 model at the lexus dealership in Nova Scotia - and it would have cost me $52,000 - so $33,500 (for me) was a bargain! Already ahve 2 different folks who want to buy it from me in 3 years time! By the way - love the vehicle
Lexus 460 out of state lease
by jim9921 on Fri Mar 28 12:18:18 PDT 2008
I'm looking to lease an 08 LS460 on for 36 mo/15K miles. I live in Portland, Or where there is only one Lexus dealer so there is no competition and I'm only getting about 5% off MSRP, which seems low, and they are quoting a money rate of .00329, which sounds pretty high. I've read on leasecompare.com that LSF rates have dropped to .00225 with 51% residual. CA dealer are pretty quick to discount 8-11% off MSRP and I assume lease rates would be better. Couple of questions: 1. Is there any reason an out of state buyer could not lease a car from a CA dealer; 2. My understanding is that I would pay CA sales tax only on the portion of the cap cost, and not the full MSRP. 3. I have a 04 430 to trade in which is valued in OR at 25K. Would I be better off using that as a cap reduction or buying down the rate with SD's, or some combination of both. I would like to get my monthly payment as low as possible.
