Re: RX400h price [gx470818]
by gx470818 on Wed Mar 12 17:39:36 PDT 2008
OK, I did a little more digging and talk to the dealer about the options that come with the 2008 FWD RX400h, they are VN, PT, HH, FT, WU, & TO. MSRP: $49935, Inovice: $44059 and the offer I have on the table is $44900 which is about 900 over the invoice. Can someone tell me is this a good price or not. TIA.
2008 RX 350 (Premium Plus Pkg), 38.5K OTD (compare to MDX?)
by neo74 on Fri Feb 29 13:02:24 PST 2008
I have been a Honda fan for many years, and just bought my first toyota product yesterday. 08 RX350, AWD, breakwater blue ext and ivory int, standard premium plus pkg stuff, no nav (didn't really need it, have a Garmin). Car price 35.5K, OTD 38.5K. The sales guy (this is a NorCal dealer) started the negotiation from 36.5K (2K below her invoice number of 38.5K), and got to 35.5K fairly quickly; we didn't really negotiate any further (thanks to this forum, I know others have successfully got the price to 35K, so obviously I can work a bit more on my negotiation skills, or my patience =) This lexus sales guy wasn't exactly the nicest person to talk with, but we figure that we got an OK deal. :) Originally, I really really want to get an 2008 Acura (nice style, SH-AWD, tons of cargo space with 3rd-row-down, the electronics are a generation ahead of RX, IMO). It is definitely more of a "driver's" car. But in the end, since we are buying this SUV to be the "family car", the ride comfort is a extremely important factor for us (wife win). The comfort level (for both 1st and 2nd row) on the RX is better for sure. I guess that I "caved in" ... so even when I was enjoying the smooth ride on RX 350 home last night, there was still a bit "echo" in the back of my mind, what if ... I am wondering how many people in this forum had similar experiences (i.e. comparing RX with MDX). Either one is a great car, no question about it; they are just so very different.
IS 350 lease
by b0123 on Sun Jan 13 09:15:31 PST 2008
I was presented the following #s for leasing an IS 350 (with premium package, no nav) 1. MSRP = $39,875 2. Sell Price = $36,750 3. Residual Value = $22,333 4. Term = 36 months 5. Money factor = 0.00245 6. Monthly payment = $578 7. Initial payment = $705 (includes the first month's payment) Are these OK? I live in the Dallas area and wanted to know if anyone's seen better rates here. Thanks for the help.
Re: Price on 2007 LS460 in NY/NJ Metro area [venkatb]
by holew on Sat Dec 08 23:37:11 PST 2007
I doubt if you will be able to get an LS460 below dealer invoice, but then why not try. I purchased a new 2002 LS430 in Nov2001. I thought I got a good deal but later discovered I paid about $1000 too much. Back then the mark up from INVOICE price was $8000. So I offered to split the $8000 and told the salesman I would pay them $4000 above dealer invoice. I guess he must have wet his pants. He jumped up from the desk and ran to get the manager. The manager tried to get another $500 out of me but after 20 minutes of this BS stuff he aid OK. Later I found out that other dealers in the area were discounting that same car $5000 off of invoice. So now I just start offering them some way low price of perhaps one thousand below invoice. I shop in an area where there are three or more dealers. My 2002 LS430 was purchased from Silver Spring Lexus in Maryland which is a suburb of Washington, DC. There are 6 Lexus dealers in and around Washington in Maryland and Virginia. If I ever buy another Lexus product I will shop more intensively and aggressively. On an LS460 I would never pay more then $1500 over invoice and then that would be after trying very hard to get the car at invoice. The bottom line is HOW HUNGRY IS THE DEALER. If the economy is sick, even business at lux car dealers will decline. So wait the dealer out and try some of the INTERNET pricing services. They are for real and you will get pricing calls from several dealers which will save you a lot of time and perhaps BS.

Good Deal?
by rcole714 on Mon Nov 26 19:07:44 PST 2007
Curious to know if this is a good deal. Dealer is holding firm: '08 GS350 AWD with NAV and options, list is $50,890. Dealer is offering at $46,500. 39 month lease, 12K miles, residual is 52% and MF is .00185 with no Cap Cost Reduction. They are anxious to close deal by month end, which is OK with me, but I'm wondering if there is room in the price? This is my 1st potential lease, and he tells me that there is no negotiating residual value and MF. Is he leveling with me? If so, then only wiggle room is in the price and trade in value, I guess. Swift reply is greatly appreciated, if I am to close the deal in Nov. Thanks. rc
