hi, what's the name of the dealership? I talked to Lexus of Edison, and the sale person said he will not go lower than MSRP for the 450h, since it's high in demand :(

Thanks for replying. Yes, it was my first offer and that's what I figured - it seemed quite outrageous for a simple base model with NO extras. I am going to visit a few other locations, Edison, Bridgewater, Freehold NJ and see what they will do there for me. We'll see what others can do for me. Thanks again! :)

MSRP of $43,265 got a discount of $3,500 from MSRP and $4,500 becuase of my clunker. i feel that i could have gotten more discount but, they seemed to be hesitant gving more because i have a clunker. They're giving me all those problems about CFC paperwork, wait to get paid etc excuses.
ePrice for 2009 GX 470 with 3rd row in Houston
by farmer20 on Thu Aug 13 12:37:33 PDT 2009
I am thinking to buy 2009 GX 470 with 3rd row and contacted two local Houston Lexus dealers, they sent identical price for the car 2009 GX 470 base price $48627 TH THIRD ROW SEAT WITH REAR AIR CONDITIONER $485 E5 CHROME EXHAUST TIP $79 DD REAR WIND DEFLECTOR $551 TO TOW HITCH BRACKET $50 Total MSRP: $49845 Offer price: $46988 Basically a less than $2000 discount from MSRP. I calculated the ratio from the cost people posted here for 2008 GX 470 and you can see a very consistent number and that will be a good guideline for 2009 GX470 even noone posted here. Have not find a time to see the dealer. 1. Picked one in Edison NJ fro 47000. MSRP - 52895. Didn't take more than 20 minutes to take almost 6K off the sticker. No rear DVD, no towing prep package. Good luck to all those looking to buy one 88.86% 2. i just closed on a deal in dallas at sewell lexus. the internet department was absolutely fantastic and i am excited to have my car shipped to me in a few weeks. Here is my gx: nav/levinson tow package preferred accessories spolier third row msrp: 53089 invoice: 46547 87.68% 3. The MSRP was $52,668 and includes Nav/Mark Lev, 3rd row, mats, wheel locks, cargo net, spoiler, and tow hitch with ball. The invoice was $46,153 and I picked it up two days ago for $46,500+TTL. Probably could have got it for less if I waited for the end of month, but wife was impatient since ext/int color was what she wanted. Anoher dealer offered $46,200 but without tow hitch nor spoiler. Good luck in your search. 88.29% 4. I just got an offer for an 08 GX470 with the following: 12k miles per year/48 months Mark Levinson Audio Package NAVIGATION 3rd Row Seat w/ Air Tow Prep Package List price $51365 neg price $45419 88.42% 5. FYI for anyone buying in Houston Texas: I just picked up an 08 with same options as dude above: The MSRP was $52,668 and includes Nav/Mark Lev, 3rd row, mats, wheel locks, cargo net, spoiler, and tow hitch with ball for $46.2 + TTL - Is that a good deal? 87.72%

Smarty666, Glad to hear my posts helped someone. In addition to Ray Catena I recommend Lexus of Edison too. I submitted a price request from their web site (like I did with many others) and dealt with a nice guy who was willing to deal but we aren't supposed to put names and contact info here. Good luck!

Thanks V4F for confirming the best prices I was coming up with. As far as Dealers, Bridgewater was admittedly higher than others and bascially told me a bit rudely that I was wasting there time after a couple rounds of negotiations so I won't be doing business with them. Edison was good to work with but I closed the deal with Ray Catena Lexus (Monmouth/Oakhurst) they were the lowest and because they had the color combination we wanted in stock and dealers will negotiate more on something in stock. I go it for 38,000 even but I negotiated pretty hard on some dealer installed options too and the dealer fees. For all you out there looking to buy, after you agree on the price of the car make sure you get the "out the door price" which will include tax and all the fees they want to charge. When you negotiate hard on the price of the car they want to jack up the fees to try and compensate. Here is what I ended up with: SALE PRICE: $38,000 selling price for below car +$700 Complete wood kit +$600 Gold Lexus emblems +$200 hand painted pinstripe +$800 3M front paint protection ========================= $40,300 - Sub-total +2,821 sales tax +249 dealer doc fee +125 motor vehicle fees (or less for plate transfer) +7.50 NJ tire fee ============================ $ 43,500 - GRAND TOTAL - OUT THE DOOR PRICE NEW 2009 LEXUS ES350 Base MSRP 34,470 rear seat side airbags 250 full size spare 205 HI headlamps 815 NAV package 2,650 intuitive parking assist 500 premium package plus 1,280 W & L steer. wheel 330 all weather mats 109 accessory package 210 destination 875 TOTAL MSRP: $41,694 I don't know how alex_dv got the 41,694 MSRP car for 36,800 just a few weeks ago at Tri-County. Maybe he transposed the numbers (38,600) or actually got one without the NAV like cats_nj, which is over 2k option. For the person asking what the abbreviations mean, they are the codes Lexus uses to identify the various options. Here are some of them: BE REAR SEAT SIDE AIRBAGS FS FULL SIZE SPARE HL HIGH INTENSITY HEADLAMPS NV GENERATION 5 NAVIGATION SYSTEM PA INTUITIVE PARKING ASSIST PT PREMIUM PLUS PACKAGE WF ALL WEATHER MATS WU WOOD & LEATHER STEERING WHEEL Z1 CARGO MAT/NET, WHEEL LOCKS You can also find them on the many car buying tips sites like Edmunds, cars.com, kelley blue book, consumer reports etc. Google (and now Bing) are your friends. For the person in Houston, the prices do seem to vary by region of the country and NJ seems higher than others. There are some recent posts of peope shopping in Houston area and the prices you are getting. When you are new to a chat it's always good to read through the previous posts before asking questions. As far as loan percentage rates, can't help with that because I only pay cash (I like to actually afford the stuff I buy rather than pay for it later and pay a lot of interest to someone else for it). However Lexus is making a big deal about their gold sales events and there are a lot of other posts about interest rates. Good luck and have fun! I enjoy being a pain in the neck to the sales people who took advantage of us and lied and railroaded deals for so many years before the internet gave us so much information to learn their tactics and help us negotiate! If you are a costco member you can go to costco.com and get a referral that way and a pretty good price at the dealer but I think you can do even better than that.
