Buying a 2010 RX from So Cal - Need Help here
by rxers on Tue Nov 17 15:10:47 PST 2009
Need help guys. I am looking to a buy a 2010 RX FWD (CP, NV, PM, EK, Parking Assit, Tow Prep, Accy Pkg). I am looking at OTD pricing only and I am working with a rather junior salesman over the internet. He won't budge at 46K OTD. However, I know I can get it for at least a few hundred bucks lower - any experiences at Longo? Any particular salesperson you know that may help in going lower? My particular guy doesn't know me and has only spoken to me over the phone. message me privately if you have names that I can contact for a purchase. akuma_racing@yahoo.com Thanks!
Re: RX350 Bellevue/Seattle area [wheelmark]

You will save few thousand dollars if you buy from CA. You don't need to register in CA/pay CA taxes if the vehicle is not operated in CA. Most of the dealers will ship the vehicle to whereever you live so you can register locally. I live in Seattle area and I won't recommend the Bellevue lexus. I bought mine (MSRP $48,473/Invoice 43,743[my price] - NV, CP, PM, PA, TO, WU etc.) from Oakland Lexus dealer and I am saving about 4K after shipping.
2010 Lexus RX350 AWD
by luckycards on Wed Sep 23 17:56:47 PDT 2009
I took delivery of a 2010 RX 350 last week from Valley Lexus (CA). I’ve been watching this site for a while, so I thought I’d share my buying experience: Car: 2010 Lexus RX 350 AWD Options: NV, PM, CP, FT, WU, EK, wheel locks, cargo mat and net Color: Misty Granite Mica with black leather MSRP: $47,253 Edmunds invoice: $41,623 (est. for locks, cargo mat and net) Sales price: $41,969.89 Sales tax: $3,992.36 Registration: $582.75 Document fee: $55 Out the door: $46,600 Do not remember what the Lexus Invoice was. On paper it looks like I paid more than Edmunds invoice but there was a discrepancy between the Edmunds invoice and Lexus invoice. Something to do with TDA/Financial Reserve but I know that should be included in Edmunds invoice since this is money going back to the dealer. I spent over a month researching and decided to go with a dealer 1.5 hours away since they had the best price and was willing to negotiate. All the other dealers in the area wanted me to come down to the dealership and I just didn't want to waste my time. I am very happy with my purchase and the service I received.
CA dealers quoting a lot more than prices paid mentioned here
by anandh on Thu Aug 20 13:49:09 PDT 2009
I am planning to purchase a 2010 RX 350 AWD with Black/Parchment, NV, CP, PM, WU, Tow Prep & 19 inch Alloy wheels. As per edmunds/kbb/truecar the invoice is close to: $41,535.00 I have been calling many dealers in California and they quote for $200-$500 above invoice. However there is a catch. Their invoice price is much higher than the invoice I found elsewhere. According to them the invoice for this configuration is $43,1xx.00!! When I mention to them their invoice is way higher than the ones I have and ask what is included, they are not willing to discuss about invoice anymore and start talking about MSRP. Could it be that their invoice is jacked up some how? If I am purchasing a car from them then can I ask them for a break-down of the invoice to see why it is much higher? The dealers so far include Longo, Park Place, Crown lexus, Putnam etc. Any ideas why this could be and how to deal with this? I see someone just bought a similar vehilcle below the invoice price (that matches to Edmunds) at Longo. Ihave been talking to the Internet departments at all these places but doesn't seem to help.
Re: Buying experience in Southern CA. [hsmyers2002]

I contacted Longo Lexus in El Monte and used hsmyers2002's information to get a quote from the sales department. However, I could not negotiate as good an offer. It was my dealer of choice because of proximity, but their price was beat elsewhere. Surprising to me, since they claim to be #1 of sorts. Car: 2010 Lexus RX 350 FWD Options: NV, PM, CP, FT, WU, EK, C1, GN, WL Color: Obsidian on Parchment; Tungsten on Black MSRP sticker: $45,847 Lexus invoice: $41,432 Edmunds invoice: $40,187 (no C1, GN, WL) Longo's offer: $41,400 ($4,447 off MSRP, $32 under Lexus invoice) I did not purchase since I received better offers (under $41k) elsewhere. Once I settled on another dealer based on convenience, I asked them to beat my best offer, and they did so willingly by $200. I negotiated over the phone/online, agreed on the price with the dealer, and signed and took delivery in person. This all took between 3 - 4 days. Car: 2010 Lexus RX 350 FWD Options: NV, PM, CP, FT, WU, EK, 3T, C1, GN, WL Color: Smoky Granite Mica on Black MSRP sticker: $46,106 Lexus invoice: $41,459 Edmunds invoice: $40,187 (no 3T, C1, GN, WL) Signed Deal: $40,700 ($5,406 off MSRP, $759 under Lexus invoice) I believe this was an awesome deal! At least slightly better than hsmyers2002 and socal777. One dealer was even bold enough to beat any price I had and include basic scheduled service for two years (valued at $1,200), but I did not go with them, because its location is inconvenient. In my experience, the more popular colors are no longer available on lots. For whatever remains, dealers are willing to give great deals on the first generation 2010 models (Base MSRP FWD $36,800), which is what I got, since the second generation 2010 models (Base MSRP FWD $37,250) are expected to arrive on lots in September 2009. The Lexus Build Your Own RX350 site already reflects the second gen MSRP and slightly enhanced options. In the end, the car is the same except for the minor enhancements and options. I did not negotiate on the second gen since I was ready to buy immediately, but wonder if dealers would give the same concessions and prices on them as first gen. I recommend buyers contact internet sales departments, negotiate via email or phone, then leverage your offers.
Re: ES350 IN NJ area [jreyna]

jreyna did you order a Black Sapphire or is there one coming in? I bought the Black Sapphire with a grey interior. You will like the color its very nice. Ours came with WF,Z1,NV,PT,HL,PA,WU,BE,FS and BM was added by dealer and thrown in to deal. The only option we would have liked was the HN power sun shade which doesn't come in our area. Didn't know how long it would have taken to get car. I saw car with HN listed in mid west. Whats an extra $210 when your spending close to 40K.
