I think this definitely can be done. You will probably pay around $1700 out of pocket though (taxes being rolled in). That also depends on the state. I just leased 2008 GS350 AWD with navigation and all the other small options, but excluding MS, Laser Cruise, and Lexuslink. I negotiated the car down to about $45,700 (not best deal but decent with MSRP being $50,890, and invoice being $45,100 on this one including stupid ad fees which no local or not so local dealer wanted to budge on). With December to Remember Lexus Financing 0.00185 MF, 50% residual on 36 months, 15K miles a year, I got that for $3900 (taxes, tags, title, doc fee *grrrr*, first payment) out of pocket with $699/month payments. You figure that 3K of extra miles (compared to you) is $30, so say $670 is what you would be looking for, but throw in extra $75 or so for taxes. You wind up with $745/month with taxes rolled in. That's in MD, with 5% tax paid on the full price of the vehicle (yeah, it sucks here), and your mileage may vary. All that said, it probably makes more sense to buy GS instead of renting since residual is low and MF is not really super. As a comparison, BMW 535xi residual is 61% I believe on 36months and 15K miles per year lease.

Just looked at the e-mail the salesman sent me and it DOES say 3.55 with the residual value of $21986. However, it was for 35 not 39 months. I'm in MS so there is no sales tax per se, but my tag will be around $900 up front. Isn't the 3.55% WAY too high? I think they are trying to make up for the MSRP discount on the back end, don't ya'll?
Where Do I find a Lease like that?
by tocapalla on Mon Apr 09 07:16:58 PDT 2007
Hey Car Man, thanks for all the advice. If I could find a NEW Lexus E350 for around the $586.00 you calculated, I'd sign on the dot right now. However, every Lexus dealer and Leasing company I've talked to are quoting me a price in the $700 range. Where can I find a car at near the price you quoted? I live in MS, and the few and far between dealers in this and nearby states don't seem to want to deal. I've even contacted dealers in TX and several other states. THANKS again.

tocapalla, I think you have it right. No tax in MS? wow I am moving there. Make sure the lease does not have a termination fee if you want to return the car at the end. $900 for a tag? wow~!. I just got my es350 for $550 a month. All toys
Lease Assumption
by tocapalla on Wed Apr 04 14:07:03 PDT 2007
Hello. I am thinking of assuming a lease of an '07 ES350, and need some help figuring out the final monthly payment. His lease of $607.00 includes taxes (6.5%-FL). In MS, my state, all I have to do is pay for the tag, which is about $900.00. YES, the amt. is correct. Anyway, do I just deduct 6.5% from the monthly payment? This gives me $567.55, which seems about right. Is this how it should be done? Please help, and THANKS in advance.
Prices in the South

I am in the market for an ES 330, and I have not decided if I want to buy one with the option package that includes the Nav system. Price is a big factor. I live in Jackson, MS, and the dealer here doesn't want to deal so I am willing to drive a little. Could some of you share the prices you paid for cars with or without the Nav. system in the Dallas, Atanta, New Orleans or Memphis areas? Thanks.
