IS 250 AWD: by jcoukos on Tue Dec 26 17:04:48 PST 2006; I thought I had a good deal on a list price $39,087 car with a $1600 discount at Lexus of Northborouh, MA. I shopped Lexus of Norwood, MA and after several counter offers from each dealer after I kept cancelling the deal from the other dealer ( ping pong match), I came away with as best I can tell a net invoice offer from Herb Chambers. I had a trade which made the final figures a little tough to decypher. Each dealer kept dropping another %500+ each time to lock the deal in and they kept calling me and loering the price. I finally took delivery at a net price of $34.2K which included a factory installed XM radio list price $800'ish. I have to tell you it took a lot of driving to each dealership and phone calls but in the end I saved an add'l $4000 over what I thought was a good deal at $1600 off. The car is a dream.

IS 350 Purchase in MA: by flannery13 on Fri Jul 28 05:59:08 PDT 2006; Just purchased a cystal white IS 350 from Lexus of Norwood. I had visited Watertown, Northborough and sent emails to others in MA area. Norwood had the most vehicles in stock and met my best price from other dealers. They where all on par with each other in terms of a time spent negotiating themselves a higher profit. Norwood was the most responsive and honest of the dealers and now that I have purchased the vehicle their after sales follow-up (reg., inspection, walking me through how to program bluetooth phone, etc.) has been great. I would reccomend Norwood if looking to buy an IS in MA. IS 350 Headlamp Washers Luxury Package (w/18" wheels) Nav Intuitive Parking Assist Preferred Acc Rear Lip Spoiler MSRP w/dest = 43,944 Paid 39,500 (including trade of 1999 chevy malibu w/133k, body damage and rust; kelly BB was $1000) Paid $39,500 Doc Fee $198 reg, title & inspect $94 tax(5% MA) $1975 Total Paid $41,767

Delayed delivery - what to do?: by hobbes4444 on Tue Nov 08 14:35:48 PST 2005; So the delivery date of our 2006 RX330 keeps getting pushed back. When we signed the contract on 10/30 we were assured that the dealer (Lexus of Norwood) had the car but not on the lot. It would be on the lot in 2-3 days. Wednesday came and went, nothing; not even a follow-up call from the salesman. We call Thursday and the reply is, well we show it being here tomorrow. Friday comes, we call again. This time it's, well we thought the car was coming here to the dealership, but we have to go pick it up ????? We'll have it ready by Tuesday. Today's story, oh someone dropped the ball. We're so sorry. We'll have the car here by Friday, and oh for your inconvenience we'll give you the first service free. Well, now I'm p**sed. WE've had to constantly call the dealer about the status, we don't get updates. We keep getting a different story. We paid cash for 3/4 of the f'in car up front, and they are not delivering as promised. So, I'm not real excited about the prospect of having another story on Thursday about the car still being somewhere other than my driveway. Any thoughts about what I can do at this point? We passed on an offer from another local dealer (the first we visited) for the same car for about $1000 less than what we paid since we already commited to this dealer. And we have a rental car since our other car is in the shop. Frankly, the first service free is like a slap in the face after all this crap. But maybe I'm just being too demanding expecting that a car dealer would actually deliver as promised. . . Thanks, Dave

The day after we signed the contract at Norwood, the other dealer followed up on our first visit. We told them we had a better experience at Norwood and had made a purchase. Watertown then said they could give us the same car for $37,500. We thought that was a little underhanded (especially since they said the best they could do on a similar 2005 was $38,800) and refused to go back on our previous deal (we're guessing they would have padded their costs elsewhere). We should take delivery shortly.

buying in DC area: by katherine6 on Wed Mar 31 21:50:25 PST 2004; I started this and it vanished. I bought in Norwood MA and paid about 3,200 below MSRP and then paid 5% MA sales tax. I posted exact numbers here back in Aug-Sept. Another poster here just bought in Watertown, MA (Lexus of Watertown) and paid about 4,200 below MSRP. Check out post 884. I live in MA but would have bought in DC area because I have a daughter who lives there and I could have combined a visit with car pick up. good luck, katherine
