2008 IS350 Premium+ X Sticker $39,551
by jvalha on Wed Oct 31 09:09:46 PDT 2007
Ok, did some test driving yesterday and loved the IS350. Naperville, IL. It edged out the Acura TLS. Sticker is $39,551 for Premium w/X package. Fist pass at pricing was 3% off sticker with the sales rep saying to come back in if I was actually going to purchase and the discount might be double that. Double that is $2,373 off sticker. What I've seen so far is that I should shoot for at least $3,000 off sticker. Is that about right? And my big question, am I better off pulling the trigger in December for the "event"? Thanks so much in advance for any advice.

Thanks to all for the info posted in this message board, it was a HUGE help and I’m glad I stumbled across it. My wife was looking at an IS 250 AWD and the 3 dealers we went to (and the 3 we called on the phone) last week all said they weren't going to budge more than a few hundred off sticker. After coming across this message board and doing some research, I think we got a pretty good deal and just purchased the new car tonight. That being said, I wanted to return the favor and if my info can help anyone else out, then good for you. Pay it Forward, you know :o) We got an IS 250, AWD, Nav, Luxury Package, Black on Black. Last week, right out of the gate, the Schaumburg Lexus internet manager offered $2000+ off and said he'd come down more if we came in. Then after some further research, we determined we'd offer $36,500 for the car. Naperville Lexus (where we wanted to buy it because it is 10 min from our house) said he wasn't going to meet our price and said to buy it elsewhere if we were going to get that great of a deal. Didn’t even want to counter offer. I don’t think he thought we were serious. Then we called McGrath Lexus in Westmont and took our price to the sales manager there (not the salesperson we talked to last week when we were there). He countered with $36,878 and he said he couldn't do any less than that. Plus he had the car on the lot. From reviewing the posts on this board, I think we did pretty good, but it was still feel like we got screwed. McGrath was the most aggressive in trying to meet our price. The sales manager was great to work and the Delivery Assistant who showed us how to use all the features was tremendous. Sticker Price: $39,919 Purchase Price: $36,878 Invoice Price: $35,378 (Edmunds showed a lower invoice price, but we called 2 dealers and both gave us this amount as the actual invoice) Net/net $3041 off of sticker ($1500 over invoice). Good luck and hope this helps... :)
Great deal in Chicago area

I just bought my Bamboo Pearl RX 330 this morning. I bought w/o Nav, MSRP of $41,703. I did all the research including reading all the posts on this forum. I had a pretty good idea of what deals people were getting and started from there. I did get a $100 over invoice quote from one of the internet managers at the Woodfield Lexus in Schaumburg. I was ready to drive there, even though it was about an hour away from my home. Then I decided to do the courtesy off telling the salesman at Naperville Lexus that I had found a great deal and thanks for his time. He obviously was interested in the details and wanted me to come in to the dealership in person. I figured I had nothing to lose. Ended up getting $200 over invoice the difference being that the sales tax in Naperville was much less than Cook Cnty. Had a great experience there and I am so glad that I bought from a dealer close to home. I can't wait to go back for my first FREE car wash!!! If anyone is interested, I would be happy to give the name of my salesman, if you e-mail me.

Hello- Could you please give us some more details as to the deals that are being offered at Naperville? How much above invoice? For what kind of vehicle? Loaded(Mark Lev/NAV/RES), base or any kind? Any info is greatly appreciated.
