GS 350 Purchase

Hi, This board is very helpful, but I can't find a lot of info on the right purchase price the GS 350. I'm considering the '08 GS 350 RWD with navi as the only addition. Cars Direct shows the invoice as ~$42k, but I didn't know how much (if any) these cars were going for over invoice. I can't find a board dedicated to "Prices Paid and Buying Experience" for this car, but I'm hoping some people on the board can chime in. I'm in Atlanta, if it makes a difference. Many thanks!

Have you tried the dealer in Augusta, GA? I'm looking to buy one and wanted to know if it would be any better in Atlanta. A friend bought one last March and paid sticker (ouch!). I'm also looking for a 2007 (if the price is right) or I'd wait for a 2008 IS 250.

go to Consumer Reports website and purchase the New Car Buying Guide for about $40. gives you 90 days and NO limit on how many times you use it or how many cars you can research. The dealers in the Atlanta, GA area seem to be more competitive since there are five of them.

Eastwing, Our RX350 was FWD, and the MSRP was $44,466, I think including the destination. That didn't include the doc fee of $399, so with that their starting price was $44,865. Our "price" before tax / tag / title was $39,899, or right at $5000 off of MSRP. Not sure how that compares with others in the SE, but I could tell that I had gotten as much as they were willing to give. I invested a day or so in the whole thing from the test drive to negotiation and close, so I was pretty happy. best, jeff

Thanks to all for the info on this forum. Very helpful. I completed a deal last night at Nalley Lexus in Alpharetta (north of Atlanta) for an 08 RX350 with premium +, nav/bluetooth/back-up camera, heated seats/rain sense, towing prep, cargo mat, wheel locks, 18" 7 spoke wheels (I think that's it). They referred to it as a "level III" trim. Price of $39,500 + $399 doc fee (so $39,899). 7% county tax and $42 title/tag. The $39,500 included the $765 freight fee. I think it helped significantly that it was end-of-month, and I did get a very good quote from another dealer that I used to "challenge" the dealer near me in Alpharetta. There was a pretty hard sell for extended warranty which I declined, but I'm curious if others have decided to go for one. They wanted $2100 (discounted from $2600) to extend to 7 year / 100000. I thought that was very pricey. My 04 Honda Pilot ext warranty was $1000 for the same term. Thanks again and hope this helps. best, jeff

I bought a 2005 used last year in april with 23K loaded blue tooth, Mark Levinson, DVD, premium package etc. from a private owner from auto trader last May in absolute show room condition for $33K out the door no tax in GA if I buy from a private owner which I saved at least 7-8K total. There are very few dealers in atlanta and they could not even come close to this deal I always look at private owners to buy used cars
