Re: LOOKING TO LEASE ES350 IN TAMPA [newcar28]

Newcar28, Sarasota gave me a great internet quote on my ES 350 compared to other dealerships in FL and GA. I think they may be willing to negotiate more with you. I was able to negotiate with them after the initial quote they gave me, but they did not have the color I wanted. However, the GA dealership had the car and basically matched Sarasota's price. Tampa Bay Lexus was a waist of time. It took them weeks just to respond to my internet request for a quote. See if Sarasota can do better. I did not lease my car, but I would think negotiations should be just as good as buying. Good luck on your negotiations.

You may want to check out McGrath Lexus in Chicago.....the internet guy quoted me $34,930 for an IS350 with the premium package, 18"rims with summer tires, preferred accessory package....no navi. This was with just one internet request. You can also try Brookfield Lexus, just north of Chicago in the Milwaukee area....they also offered $3500 below MSRP. I have tried many Lexus dealers and the most discount that was offered on the IS350 was the $3500 below MSRP, and that was only a few. The previous post about Lexus making about 1 IS350 for every 5 IS250 is right. I have had more that one Lexus dealer tell me the same thing. They also said that because Lexus is coming out with the 400 hp IS350 real soon they have cut way back on production of the IS350. I guess you could hold out for the new 400 hp IS, but it will cost you more than $50K !!!!

Thanks for the replies. I'm in Tampa, FL. RX inventories are pretty low here. They lowered the rate to .00265, but that's still equivalent to 6.36%. If only I lived in Ohio... that's closer to what I was expecting to pay!
Question IS250/350
by mldj98 on Sun Feb 25 06:10:48 PST 2007
For those of you who live out there in California, especially the ones who have most recently bought a car from Longo, could you please answer a question we have. I was told that Longo will not sell a car to someone to lives out of state, is this correct? Something about Lexus does not want to take market shares away from any other Lexus dealer, from out of state anyway. And a more general question, can you purchase your car in California, but then pay the tax and tag once you register it in your home state? Any and all help would be much appreciated.... perhaps if you recently just purchased an IS in Cali you could maybe ask your sales person to see if that is indeed the law. Thanks again...
Help!

I have never leased a car before but am thinking about it. I have a few questions, please excuse, just trying to increase my knowledge.... I assume you can haggle on the price of the car first, right? Once you establish a price, then you go into all of the details of the lease correct? This is where I get lost.....I have excellent credit, score is around 800.....what type of deal should I be looking for during this sales event? How many years is an average lease? What kind of money is needed to put down on this purchase? How many miles a year is average on a lease? Can you ask for more without paying more? What is a residual payment? Last question, what advantage if any is there to leasing? Thanks for all input, it is much appreciated!
