Re: Lowest Price Paid on RX350 in So. Cal ? [hlin88]

I tried Longo and some other dealers mentioned on this forum. I waited until the end of December to take advantage of their sales promotion and end of month, end of year. For my 2007 FWD RX (Flint Mica), premium plus, 18" wheels etc. etc. (no NAV), Westminster came in at 35,787, Longo was next with a price of 35,600, Mission Viejo was next with a 35,360 and Oxnard was the lowest at 35,160. I gave Longo and Mission Viejo the opportunity to beat Oxnard's price but neither would go any lower, so Oxnard is where I purchased my car. Honestly, I think a lot of it has to do with what, and how many, a particular dealer happens to have on the lot at the time you make the inquiry. For the record, Keyes Lexus (Van Nuys, CA) gets the fickle-finger for calling me to double check what I wanted, and then saying they would call me right back with a price...still no call a month later.
RX 350 FWD - Ventura County (CA) Anyone?
by gandalf1 on Tue Dec 12 13:39:09 PST 2006
Has anyone purchased a new RX350 from any of the dealers in Ventura County, CA? If so, please share your experience. However, I don't mind the relatively short drive to Mission Viejo / Longo etc. that some have indicated gave them a good price if it means saving some money. Also, I would appreciate your comments on the following (I have read so much lately that my head is about ready to explode). (The vehicle I am interested in is a RX350 FWD, Premium or Premium Plus package, maybe Tow Prep option, no NAV) * Do the SoCal dealers only have the Premium Plus Package (or higher), and no Premium Packages? * Did anyone buy the Towing Prep package? It seems like a lot of goodies for about $150 (although I have no plans on towing anything). Or, maybe this option is hard to come by. * It looks possible that I can get what I want for $35k (possibly less) including destination charge ($715), even with the Premium Plus package. Does this sound reasonable? * I am in no rush to buy, but am thinking the last week of December - ie. month/yr end, should be pretty good. Thanks in advance!

Out of pocket matters a lot more than invoice. You are lucky in that you have numerous, large dealers in the so cal area. My advice would be to forget about invoice and go dealer hopping from Orange County to Riverside and San Bernardino, Ventura to San Diego, until you find the best out-of-pocket deal for yourself. Invoice might matter a lot more (as a basis of price assessment) if you lived in Detroit, Michigan where you have limited ability to dealer hop for a good deal.
