Reno,NV - RX 350
by Feephee on Sun Jun 28 22:26:19 PDT 2009
I am looking for a 2010 RX 350 with NAV, comfort package and park assist. I live in Reno, NV. Any ideas how much I should pay. I contacted the dealer in Reno and they are basically not willing to come off the MSRP. I can drive to Lincoln Hills in California or any other dealer near Sacramento, CA. Is it true that Lexus won't sell across state lines, as other posters on this forum have said? I have been told that the RX's are selling like "hot cakes". Is this true?

Lease Deal for 2009 RX350
by steinboy on Wed Nov 19 22:06:14 PST 2008
Hi all, I'm in No Cal and I've been reading these messages for the last few weeks while shopping for the best lease offer. Thanks to everyone who contributes, it has been VERY helpful to me. I actually used numbers from a member to get the dealer where I wanted. Here's where I ended up: MSRP $47,100 Pebble Beach AWD Nav, Heated, Tow(basically most of the main add-ons except Mark Lev stereo) 15k/year 36 mos money factor .00095 52% Residual These are the payment options I negotiated: 1)$800 down, nav package, AWD, non- Pebble Beach model (about $45k MSRP),$499/mo 2)843 down, nav package, AWD, Pebble Beach, $520/mo 3)$0 down, nav package, AWD, Pebble Beach, $545/mo I went for the last one, as my wife liked the Pebble Beach color & wheels and I didn't want to put anything down. I must have contacted 6 or 7 dealers in the state of CA before finding a person who was friendly and helpful without being too "sales-y". Truthfully, the purchase paperwork was probably the least painful out of any I've experienced. Entire process took about an hour and because I negotiated the deal over the phone, there was no dealer BS once I got there. Person's name is Ernie at Sacramento Lexus, if anyone is in the area and looking for a great deal on an RX. He even threw in a Lexus travel mug for the car- hey, it's the little things! Couple of last thoughts: I looked at the ML, Highlander, FX, and Pilot. Most of them had things I really liked and some I couldn't live with. The HL was actually my fave pick- better room, newer design, more space in the cargo area, same engine, etc. But the lowest lease price I could get was around $650/mo! Crazy that you can lease a car that's $10k+ more for less $. The RX seemed to have the best overall balance for us, taking into account the price. I do wish I could have waited for the new 2010 model, but that's why the price is so low on the 09's. Mark Lev stereo- I love good music. By far, our FX with the Bose had the best system I've heard. So I was excited to check this stereo out. I listened to the base model and the Mark Lev, and could not tell a whole lot of difference. Not enough to justify the $2k increase in price. Save the money and upgrade your home system ; ) The base model is actually pretty nice. Cheers! Steinboy

Thanks to all the peeps for detailing their deals so its my responsibility to list my deal for others to see. I got a bang up deal on a No Nav, basic package SGM w/ black interior 2008 IS350 at Tustin Lexus (Tustin, CA) on 11/10. My options were: o Premium Pkg o HD HID headlamps o FT 18" wheels o Z2 Pref Accessory pkg (mats, net, bumper applque...) o XM rado o rear spoiler MSRP was $40-41k and change. Purchase price was $39000 OTD (8.25% tax rate) or about $100 below KBB.com invoice. I live in San Francisco Bay Area but was at Dizzyland w/ the family, so I emailed local dealers and told them make me a deal before I fly back home. My intial goal was $1k above invoice based on past posts on this forum. I visited Westminister and Longo Lexus (El Monte). Longo had the car I wanted at $39400 OTD minus the XM and rear spoiler. At the last minute I decided to call a dealer w/in 30 minutes from home. I called an internet manager and she said they would match Longo (w/ same options) at $39500 OTD so I decided to fly back and pickup the car. A diff of $100 wasn't worth having to drive 300+ miles back to N. Cal. Long story short, Tustin called late Saturday and said they would beat the deal and throw in the 2 options (spoiler and xm radio). Factors that helped: my credit rating is in the highest teir, I agree to give 100% customer satisfaction feedback, 50% downpayment in cash, and I financed w/ the dealer. Factors that may have affected the deal: Nov is a short sales month due to holidays and dealer had excess inventory. In the prior month I tried to get local dealers to try to touch $1k above invoice. Best deal was $2k below msrp. Sacramento Lexus was an appalling $1k below MSRP!

Even though I'm from the Bay Area, I ended up buying in Roseville (out of Sacramento). Got a Bamboo 2007 RX 350, premium plus, 18 inch wheels, tow pkg (everything "according to the dealer" except Mark Levinson sound or back seat DVD) for $41k. I was surprised they were willing to deal since it only just came out. Love the car after ten days of ownership. Only beef is with the bluetooth and the phone. Works unreliably. Must have a phone on the compatibility list.
