LR2 Great Lease Deal - LOUSY FEES
by bateman1 on Sun Aug 26 09:52:23 PDT 2007
So I am looking to lease the LR2. The best lease deal I've been offered is detailed below - it's the fees that are out of hand. LR2 - Blue on Tan - Cold Climate. MSRP = base 33,985 +700 cold climate +715 destination = $35,400 Selling price (gross cap cost) = $32,500 Cap Cost Redeuction = $2,500 Net Cap Cost = $30,000 24 months RV = .71 MF = .00193 (very good) Pretax = $309.16 per month Excise tax = $40.71 Sales Tax = $17.49 Month Pay = $367.36 For the most part, that is all well and fine, although it bugs me that Land Rover wants to roll the Excise Tax into my monthly payments AND TAX ME ON THE EXCISE TAX! Sounds like pure dealer/finance arm profit crap. The real problem is that because the dealer/sales drone knows I know all the ins and outs of leasing - plus all the numbers - I feel that they are just layering on BULLS*&* fees in order to make some money. To wit: Bank Fee of $595.00 So LR Finance can punch a few numbers into a computer? Doc Fee of $249.00 Sure, go photocopy the title flunky. And most ergregiosulsy, taxing, at 5% Massachusetts tax, not only the cap cost reduction of $2,500 which is fine, BUT THE BANK FEE OF $595???? They are trying to charge me tax on the excise tax PLUS tax on a fee to the finance company??? I've already got them to get rid of the $300 advertising fee crap (sure let me pay you to sell me a car). And the dealer/sales drone have the gaul to tell me that they are losing money on the deal. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I know I should tell them to shove it but I kinda like the game. Any thoughts regarding the fees/extortions, please pipe in. Bateman

Re: RRS Prices [racer_65]

There is just over 9,000 dollars of profit in a supercharged Range Rover. I can go look at a real invoice anytime I like as all online invoices are typically off by 500 to 1000 dollars. You said and I quote, "ince this is a consumer's forum, let me make some comments about prices. There is no way one should pay MSRP for a vehicle. On a car like the Range Rover Sport, dealer profit would be around $10K if you pay window sticker. If you don't care about money, that's a different story, but I figure the reason people come to this thread is because they do care about money." Over 7000 dollars of profit is not 10,000 dollars. Just over 9,000 dollars in profit is not 10,000 dollars. A HSE Range Rover Sport with typical options has about 5,000 dollars in it. A HSE Range Rover Sport with every single option including the rarely ordered Dynamic Response Package might have 6,000 or 6,500 dollars of profit in it but no more. There are no hidden rebeats or secret kickbacks the prices are what they are. The market for the RRS sport has changed over the past few months but you are not going to be buying one for a 1,000 dollars over invoice anytime soon unless that car has a story behind it. Just trying to make people understand we don't have 2007 MY cars coming in september is a struggle. Typical conversation from someone who walks up. Customer: So I see you got a lot of 2006 Land Rovers on the lot. I guess you are going to be giving them away now to make room for your 2007s. ME: Well actually we won't get our first 2007 MY car till mid november and even then it will only be a couple of vehicles. We won't get our first 2007 Supercharged Range Rovers or Sports till december or possible January. I have had to show people my supply line report with the estimated dates of arrivals on all of our cars to make them belive that.

Ehnj Hello. I kept going into the landrover website at least 5-10 times before it pops up in the middle of screen. If I remember correctly it says would you be willing to answer a survey for landrover. It has at least 15-20 questions. I requested a brochure and also filled out information on KEEP ME INFORMED. This is information that KEEP ME INFORMED HAS " Stay up to date with everything that’s happening at Land Rover. Simply fill out the form below and you’ll receive the insightful Land Rover Quarterly e-Newsletter, as well as the latest information and offers on the vehicles you request. Rest assured, our Tread Lightly!® policy extends to your Inbox. Your information will not be shared and you will only receive the information you request. I am not sure which of the three is the one that sends the email. I assume it's either the survey or KEEP ME INFORMED! I hope this helps. Gabe
