Rondo EX V6 - Leather + Premium Package + 3rd: by 97sonata on Fri May 18 09:49:11 PDT 2007; Hi All- Long time lurker, first time poster. I just bought a Rondo EX V6 with 3rd row, Leather & Premium packages from Capitol Kia in Madison, WI for $22245 before TTL(5.5% plus $108) and Rebate($750). I took the KMFC financing at 3.9% and applied the rebate as a down payment. No regional marketing charge was part of the mark-up but the dealer did have a prep charge of $125 for paperwork and full tank of gas etc. I was pleased by the deal as I did not want to travel far to get the car and most dealers I checked really did not have much for Rondo selection. The deal was pain-free as I emailed the sales person and they went over the car with me from top to bottom.

The original vehicle had scratches on the handles secondary to the plastic that stuck. Turns out there was a notice put out by KIA as this is a manufactoring error. The dealers are to replace the handles. Most of the Sedonas on the lot were that way. Marketing allowance = ???? I'm not sure what you mean by Marketing allowance, sorry. Again, I do agree we got a nice deal, and I will never argue that. I wish I could say our buying experience was as good as yours....there was no effort at all.

MSRP: 24045 Dealer Price: 22370 Rebates: 2000 + 1000 (loyalty) Trade in on 2004 Kia Sorento LX with 23600 miles - 13500 All in all I thought it turned out rather well, and love the vehicle. Thoughts?

Re: Picked up my van last night [caseybea]: by navyair on Thu May 25 09:43:00 PDT 2006; I'm in the Twin Cities. I drive a commuter car (Chrysler Cirrus) my father-in-law had before me. The alloys are all pitted and eaten from the salt...he lives in Milwaukee. When I drove my 2003 first time on salted roads on the East Coast, my Sedona wheels had marks on them from the salt, and the start of some pitting. It took me several hours to polish most of the marks out. That is when I went on-line to buy the steel wheels. I already knew I was going to buy all season snow tires. Now the tire place does free rotations at change of season. Good luck with your plan on running the alloys year around. Frequent washing will help. Might recommend that you coat the alloys with a good metal polish before the start of winter to give yourself a fighting chance come spring.

Concur with the "no" to 2 cans of 3m carpet protector ($5 each) sold for hundreds or thousand $ mark up. I haven't been under a 2006, but my 2003 EX came with factory installed rust proofing that was more thorough and thicker than anything I had seen installed as an aftermarket. Deadens road noise, too. I'll bet if you look underneath yours you will find it also has the factory installed stuff...I don't know what they were trying to sell you. Oh,yeah, about your wheels...they are probably unsealed mags which will pit or corrode with road salt. I take mine off during the winter and run my snow tires on steel rims.
