Buying a car from a Kia Car Dealer
First of all, let me state I am not anti-Kia. I bought a Sephia in 1995 and drove it for 6.5 years with only one $250 repair performed on the car the whole time. My mother-in-law has a new Sorento and she really likes it. My daughter turns 16 next year and the Forte is on our radar screen. That said, what's up with people paying $25,000 and up for an Optima? I'll admit I have not driven one; but, I paid $26k for my 2011 Maxima S in January and I could not imagine paying more for an Optima. Oh well, I guess it works out for many and I wish you well. It's just not for me.
I am somewhat atypical in that I plan to purchase the new vehicle with no financing. My question is what discount to msrp should I expect (in the Columbus, Oh area) on a 2011 v. a 2012 Kia Sportage. Right now, I am considering an EX with Premium Package since I require the following features: heated seats, backup warning, telescoping wheel. I do not require either AWD or Navigation, since I have found that AWD is "overkill" in Columbus and that Navigation changes so often that my iPhone Nav software updates quicker and is always in my pocket anyway. In the past, I have moved up a model in order to access a more powerful engine and depending upon incentives might consider an SX. Thoughts?
Bought a EX V6 AWD, Limited Package, Premium Package #2, paid $700 below invoice, before any rebates were applied. Qualified for $1500 competitive rebate, $500 Cleveland, OH car show rebate, $500 KMF rebate. Opted to not use the $1000 base rebate and instead used the 1.9% KMF rate for 60 months.
