Buying a car from a Kia Car Dealer
Please let me know if the following appears to be a good deal being offered in the NY/NJ area for a February 2012 lease. Here's the Deal for an EX with Premium and technology packages: $0 down 15K/Year $314/month .00095 Money Factor 55% Residual percentage = $15,675 $1000 competitive incentive 7% tax doc fee $249 acquisition fee $595 motor vehicle fee $309 window etch $199 online registration $5.70 I can also do a 12K lease at $307/month where the residual is 56% at $15,960. Are the above good deals? The fees seem a bit crazy? Which of these can be negotiated? Also, are there typically incentives other than the $1000 competitive discount that will be made for President's Weekend? The dealer is saying that I'm getting this at $1000 below factory invoice. What is your calculation? Thanks for your help.
I think your price is in the ballpark. I bought my loaded hybrid Nov.15th with every option available--rolled in all rebates "at the time" rolled in all NY tax and all dealer fee's "they even paid my first months payment" except license--$69.00 and my monthly for a 38 month lease is $396.00. Remember this is loaded and no money out of pocket other than $69.00. Hope this info helps you make a deal.
Hello all Just a little over a month ago I went to a local dealer looking for a 2012 EX. However, the dealer had more than a few 2011's still on the lot. So I test drove a 2011 EX turbo with premium package and didn't look back. Final price before taxes was $22,800. This price did include rebates. Love the car! And the price was incredible for everything the car gives you. Car is handling nicely in the snow too (Buffalo, NY).
Yes it was a wash. They took it in and paid it off. No cost to me. They still have it listed for sale at just about what it cost them to buy me out.It also needed all new tires. Had I not bought the new hybrid I would have had to buy tires for our Buffalo NY. weather. That would have cost about $500+. They also made the first payment and I did not have to make the Prius payment--so I saved $750+$500 for tires==$1250 that I would have had to spend.Figure all that in and my monthly for the 38 months would be about $33.00 less. So my payment would be inreal time dollars---$365.00. So bottom line you got a great deal--go for it.The $69.00 was registration and license. PS--I bet they would make the first payment. Use that as the clincher. Tell them--you make the first and ya got a deal. ;)
So today I went to our Kia dealer that's right around the corner from us with intentions of test driving a hybrid or any Optima for that matter to have an idea what the car was about. Test driving it was alright. I noticed what I thought was a slight hesitation when accelerating. However, it now seems that I'm just used to motor revving and didn't think the car was moving when going from 0 to 30. When it finally revved, I was going 40 mph. I obviously told my sales guy I wasn't too impressed with the car, so that he doesn't think I'm easy. I am not going to talk about the features, since it's obvious, the premium has almost everything a human would need or desire. Quality wise is where it takes a hit. The steering and the seats are no way are made out of real leather. I can bet they are plastic because you can feel the difference. If I was to purchase the car, it would make some difference to me, however, leasing it is sort of renting, so I didn't mind. I ended up putting a deposit on a 2011 Kia Hybrid w/ Premium package. We agreed on $1100 down and $326 a month, exact numbers I paid for my 09 TSX. They are also buying it out, which has a few hundred dollars of positive equity. Signing the papers on Wednesday, so I will have more concrete numbers then. The dealer is Lazare Kia in Colonie, NY. They have good reviews, so I am hoping for the deal to go through.
